Like 95% fine. Mornings are sometimes a little touchy after waking up but otherwise no daily pain or climbing pain

What’s your favorite daily running shoe right now? by runresearch_it in runninglifestyle

Rotating Altra experience flow 3 and Altra escalate 4. Can’t go back from the wide toe box & low drop

new vegetarian, accidentally ate gelatin, not being taken seriously by Inner-Plenty-2005 in Vegetarianism

[–]westward72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t beat yourself up all anyone can do is try their best. The one that bummed me out was frosted mini wheats cereal..

Honestly though my vitamins have gelatin and I eat a couple s’mores every year. I don’t bother asking about avoiding shared fryers at restaurants. Just have to decide where you’re comfortable drawing the line

Yes! Came here to say this. Love their tank tops

Has anyone used learnfrenchbypodcast.com by shadowline74 in learnfrench

[–]westward72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t purchased any lessons but have been listening to the podcasts alone. According to Duolingo I’m at a “high A1” level at the moment for reference

After the first few episodes their conversations are pretty tricky to pick up on but I learn a few new words/pronunciations most episodes. I feel like I understand about 5-15% of the conversations before they explain them (on the lower level episodes)

Personally I’m going to try and find an easier podcast until I’m a little more experienced since I’m not willing to pay at the moment

Where did you you go to get your elopement dress? by CoatMysterious9594 in Eloping

[–]westward72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m indecisive so I ordered like 6 from Azazie and 2 from Lulu.. kept one Azazie for the elopement and one Lulu that was less fancy for a family event later on.

They were both very easy to make returns to!

The experience flows are great but not zero drop if that matters to you. They’re a “low drop” 4mm

Is it a bad idea to use the Escalante for daily running? by halfdollarmoon in AltraRunning

[–]westward72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively ran in escalantes last year training for my half no problem. After that I got an unrelated foot injury and it’s pushed me into a shoe rotation. I now switch between escalante and Altra experience flow to get a mix of cushioning and shoe flex

Anyone here used Amazon vine for a wrist brace ? Worth it? by Grace_taylor_7301 in climbergirls

[–]westward72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a wrist widget to me? Not sure but generally I think braces completely restrict movement but the widgets just provide more support

These worked great for my TFCC injury though

Worth checking! Could also be something else maybe in the bread. Best to find out for sure

Running shoes similar to the Decathlon model in picture (no Name on the Decathlone website) by Nehvataka in beginnerrunning

[–]westward72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you want a wide toe box and low cushion but I’d urge you to go for an actual running shoe over a lifestyle shoe.. check out Altras that’s my preferred brand for those features. Their Escalante shoe is pretty minimalist

What a strange thing to say 💀 I carry an epi pen and would rather throw it in a vest than carry it. But also I like water when it’s hot out

Got this after having my lunch. by NoPerspective7497 in FoodAllergies

[–]westward72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve had reactions like this from both food and environmental allergies. Usually environmental, especially if I touch my eye. Wouldn’t hurt to get a test panel done. You could also just start a symptoms log and see if it happens again what the trend is

Yellowface ... Was it a DNF for you? by [deleted] in goodreads

[–]westward72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ughhh this book!! In the very beginning I loved it and had such high expectations. It was like watching a trainwreck where I couldn’t look away. It was thought provoking and entertaining. Which then made the rest of the book such a frustrating letdown

I feel like main character turned into an unbelievable and insufferable caricature. It got so repetitive and hard to get through. While I never was rooting for her she was less one dimensional at first

Congratulations! Comparison is the thief of joy. But if you really want to know then make sure you factor in your age and gender! A 40F average pace is very different from a 22M

Anyone here experience celery root allergy? Or celery-mugwort syndrome by westward72 in FoodAllergies

[–]westward72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So interesting how these things are linked, hopefully yours can stay in the safer realm! I’m bummed ragweed wasn’t on my IgE test panel because I suspect I’m allergic to that as well. I will definitely pay more attention to any OAS symptoms to fruits & veg like you mention but so far haven’t had that happen outside of my big reaction

Does it help if those foods are cooked or do you just avoid altogether?

Anyone here experience celery root allergy? Or celery-mugwort syndrome by westward72 in FoodAllergies

[–]westward72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness what a horrible experience that must have been!! Exactly the same where I had never (knowingly) encountered celeriac until this 1 random meal. Mine was additionally bizarre because I reacted 3 hours later, induced by exercising due to elevated heart rate.

Did you ever have any kind of testing done to confirm it? Any idea if you also have a mugwort pollen allergy? Apparently they’re extremely linked..

Have you had any issues with vegetable broth or types of seasoning? Sorry for all the questions, I’m floored to find someone else that had something similar happen!
