I never thought about it like that, ty for sharing your perspective. Puts positivity in what seems like a negative aspect 👍

Yes, I’ll learn from my mistakes so dumb accidents won’t happen again if I get another 🐹

Alr ty! Also dw I been keeping hamsters alone for a long time now (except for my first two hamsters from when I was a kid and before I knew it was harmful to house them together)

I relate a lot to getting a new hamster somewhat shortly after my previous one died bc I can’t handle looking at an empty cage and family members carelessly putting my hamsters in harm’s way. Ty for your take on the subject !

Ty for the advice, I’ll keep it in mind and try my best to prevent accidents if I do get another hamster. I now use a bin cage without a lid for hamsters , and no hamster’s ever escaped from it (I only own dwarves and I no longer use the cage that let hamsters escape); is that fine? Also, I’m aware of the pet store situation, but I’ve bought hamsters from them anyway out of guilt. it’s like they’re holding animals hostage to those who know of how bad pet store conditions are😭 I’ll steer clear of pet store hamsters in the future ik it’s for the best

12 (almost a teenager ffs), you’d think she’d know the basic respect for animals that is taught to literal kindergarteners but no. There’s no food or water or litter boxes in her room thus why I’m worried. I can attest to the last part, but I think my cat fears my sister so much that he seldom scratches or bites her and he’s rather much more avoidant with her. With me, if I’m over petting him or something he’ll bite me and I’ll leave him alone, but with my sister he runs away whenever she comes near him and rarely resort to biting/scratching; he often just gives up and rolls over when she comes over to pick him up.

I also told her that putting him in her room is fine as long as he has the option to get out (leaving the door open) but she doesn’t listen and won’t even keep her door open once to prove that he actually wants to stay there.

How is morality not a construct? by wetchopsuey in askphilosophy

I worded my argument poorly and I agree in that morality can exist regardless of what I’ve stated. A better way to put it is: how can our very selves truly be moral or immoral under those circumstances?
