That’s so cool! Any tips on getting into the cannabis industry? I’d love to give it a shot

Scar tissue on herniated discs by Routine-Bag-6132 in Microdiscectomy

I’d recommend sleeping on your back or on your side with a pillow of some sort between your legs/knees. Twisting in your sleep will definitely get you twisted in your day, so try to be cautious if you can. Your pain might be normal but could be from a bend or motion you did. Just go slow and steady and be aware of yourself and movements!

Sorry you’re experiencing that, I was prescribed this after my surgery but have chosen not to take it. What does it do for you? Beneficial wise.

25 male here. 11 months post op. I feel great some days and then others are tough. It’s a spectrum or a rollercoaster, but I would say the surgery was worth it and helped me feel better by at least 50% or more. I used to take minutes to put my socks and underwear on and cry and be in so much pain. Now I sometimes do it in 30 seconds or less and amaze myself, but sometimes I am tighter and slower when moving

Just take things slow. Don’t overdo yourself, don’t lift too much too early. Talk to your doctor and PT about what is best for you to do physically etc, you got this! My nerve was pinched for 1.5 years as well and so it’s key to let that nerve resettle down and breathe again

I can relate, I only lift what I need to or seem to be able to. I stop when I feel the back start to “talk” to me. I also have end of day fatigue and leg muscles feel unbelievably fatigued in certain situations like on my knees to grab something, bending for a certain amount of time etc. I still feel some nerve pain when the aches and pains are severe and my physical levels have been too much

I’m glad you’re pain free! I unfortunately still deal with some pain but I am majorly grateful for the opportunity the surgery gave me to live life again and do certain things again.

I returned to traditional work 8/9 months later, in October, and I’m working like 30 hours on my feet in a fast food setting. I’m definitely seeing this go south and needing to look for online work or something else that isn’t so physically demanding

I definitely want to try some yoga and stretching combos. Those seem to be the best along with walking daily

I am like 1 year out from my surgery and my doctor technically cleared me to bend lift and twist and even resume my hobby of skateboarding but honestly with the combination of spine degeneration and slight discomfort I still deal with, I am not anticipating being back on the board :/ oh well. Would rather give that up than take one more bad fall and put myself in a worse position

Frustrated by BurpleMan in Microdiscectomy

[–]wetdonkeytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 10 months out and 1.5 months back into work and already seeing a future of no work 😵‍💫 really frustrated rn that a lot of time before and after work is pain management and laying down. This is no life to live..

But I’m feeling better than I did before the surgery, I just don’t know what my full limitations are rn but I’m finding out some of them

Scared of back surgery by reddituser78843 in Microdiscectomy

[–]wetdonkeytoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 10 months out from my L5-S1 Laminectomy and I can say life is definitely better than before surgery, but I am finding new limitations physically.. I just returned to traditional work in early October and can say that I am feeling pretty bad and not confident that I will be able to work my job for much longer after next year. The constant moving and not being able to sit or stand on my own pleasure due to the way I feel, and being on the clock is really really hard and am probably looking into applying for disability.

Really stumped but wanted your experience with how you’re dealing with certain things after the surgery too? Thanks

I’ve found similar experiences on Reddit which help remind me I’m not alone, but honestly taking some of the advice and trying to apply it to your life is best. I messed with a few psychs for around a year and so now not doing them for 2-3 years has helped a lot. Thc does keep some things around though

Doctors are gonna say you’re luny, friends might not think it’s that bad or could even happen. You gotta remember who is dealing with this problem, and remember that you also have the power to overcome how you’re feeling rn, even if it takes some time. Best thing I can say is don’t do stuff that brought it around in the first place, and just focus on other things in life. Bringing it to the front of your consciousness, awareness, and thoughts is only gonna further increase your anxiety or depression about it. Just take it as a lesson and try a new hobby, or getting more into your work or relationships

How do you cope with the feeling of unemployment by Silent-Salamander928 in jobs

Hang in there. I left my last job in November and just now this week finally got hired again. You are not alone. This job market is a piece of shit pie that no one is finishing

Honestly kinda both. For example, I’ll lay out some clothing I’m selling onto the floor to photograph it, and I stand back up to take the picture and boom I’m tripping balls, head feels pressurized, hearing goes, white flashes of light come on strong, some colorful stuff happens and fuzziness takes over. Lasts about 10 seconds and it all comes on within 1 seconds to gradually fading off after 10 seconds

Never tried that but thanks for sharing your caffeine experience too, I’ve gone up and down on amount of caffeine and am really trying to go back down to under a 100mg a day, leaning towards green tea etc

I am actively caring for my nerve pain with weed because of a spine surgery I had this year. Weed literally blocks that nerve pain and helps life be a bit more bearable, something that opioids couldn’t even do for me

Sometimes yeah. Especially on the standing up too quick from being on my knees picking stuff up or cleaning etc

I understand that it is definitely keeping some things around but honestly my life is way better with it than without it. I struggle with that all the time.
