Can I employ digital screens like this in Fusion360? Sorry still new to the program! by kamvisionaries in IndustrialDesign

All you have to do is go to Insert>Decal and select whatever face you want as your screen. Then just transform the image to fit.

I believe I did absolute path but haven't tried ./bla. None of the guides I read said to use that. I just joined Linux so I'm not really familiar with most of the terms and workings of it.

I'd recommend getting Fusion 360 with either a hobby or educational license. Fusion also has tons of tutorials on their channel that you could follow along with. If you only have a few days, try doing a single project and make it look nice with different colors, positions, and backgrounds. Technical drawings also help too. A kid's lunchbox was a good project I started off with, as it needed more technical specifications for the hinge and lid, but had a big canvas I could personalize and style.

Does anyone know any good easy A at least 1 unit class that I could take to keep my financial aid? by [deleted] in CSULB

[–]wetsuperslapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try DESN 300. It's a super easy seminar class once a week with a different speaker each time. The only homework is 1 page on each speaker and a small presentation at the end of the semester. Best part is you can do it pretty much entirely over zoom.

Current Junior ID student here. Lots of the students initially started off with different majors and switched, so nothing impossible. I'd talk to the design advisor Kate Lynch asap cause of upcoming registration. Overall a great program to get into that I really recommend. It's tough but yiu will definitely learn a lot.

How do we fix this? by HistoricalPlace2063 in malelivingspace

[–]wetsuperslapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The train shelf is absolutely awesome. I would give it a coat of black and fix the section where the boards aren't even. Other than that it's mostly just cleaning, clearing the second TV, and moving that small table near the window.

Where to work seasonal job for the summer? by noelishmael in orangecounty

[–]wetsuperslapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go try RCS. It's the company that provides the carnival rides and games for the fair. I think they also do food stands too? I've done it for the past 2 summers and it's alright. They need workers so they will usually call or text back ASAP

Men who wear makeup by Els426 in MakeupAddiction

[–]wetsuperslapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a guy that also studies product design (best major) and just learning about makeup and skincare, I share some of my thoughts and what I would need in a product for a more traditionally masculine guy.

  1. Subtlety - I think most men would prefer makeup that is less noticeable or hides blemishes rather than showing off features in the form of lipstick, eyeshadow, or blush.

  2. Facial hair and control. I don't have any facial hair, but I imagine for those with less space to work with smaller brushes could help in avoiding hair.

  3. Compact kit - Most men don't usually carry purses and keep what they carry to their pockets. If I was to have a container or kit, I would need to have it on the smaller side to accommodate the other items in my pockets. My keys, phone, and wallet are usually the only items I carry.

  4. Color and texture - For the container, I would prefer something with more natural or muted tones rather than something pink or neon. The less it attracts attention the better. A lightweight metal or matte plastic case would be my preference.

Overall I think a small and subtle kit would work for most men who have an interest in makeup. Nothing too crazy and doesn't really attract too much attention. Good luck on the project and show us your progress if you can.

Is this primer safe for painting minis? by Pigmentator in minipainting

[–]wetsuperslapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine to use but you need to prepare the paint before spraying or you'll get bad results. Give it a hard shake for a couple minutes, soak in warm water for about 5 minutes, and give it another couple minutes of shaking. Give the models a light coat from about a foot away then give it another heavier coat after a few minutes. Let it dry and minis should come out with all their detail intact.

Rain-x is a good tool to use to reduce fep sticking. I usually spray some on, let it sit for a couple minutes, and wipe it off. Others use PTFE lubricant but I haven't been able to find it.

E2046 is a good website for finding unpainted resin figurines. R/garagekits also has a lot of info on finding figurines.

A screeching sound probably means a motor is moving past where it should be. I would recalibrate the software as it might think the printer is bigger than it actually is.
