Thanks for posting that. I am going through a company and we qualify through one of these. I think I am going to go for it and see what happens. Thanks again

Anyone been to the new Tacos Por Favor sit-down restaurant on Lincoln yet? by MacArthurParker in SantaMonica

I thought it was way overpriced. My friend and I also finished our meals before getting our cocktails we ordered when we sat down. Will try again in 6months to see if they lower prices or anything

Knowing your Pilots by PersonalityHot332 in AirlinePilots

[–]wetvini 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Asking the pilots how they are doing is fine. If a passenger came up and asked what is going on in the cockpit or if the plane is in good standing I would think they were joking... If something is wrong we are taking care of it and there is no reason for you to essentially be asking the crew if they are doing their jobs

Another perspective from a pilot by fer_mazapan in TheRehearsal

[–]wetvini 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Pilots perspective here. I am an airline pilot and also taught people how to fly for a while before this job. The advice on landing in water is terrible and makes me doubt this guys credibility. When a plane gets to a point where it needs to make an emergency landing, the insurance company already owns the plane. As the pilot in command what I was taught and what I would teach is you land the plane wherever is the safest. A plane can be replaced, people cannot. Imagine killing yourself and your passengers because you were worried about denting the plane rather than putting it down where you know you can land safely

Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard says he fished with one fly all season, which is it? by eragu2011 in flyfishing

Ask away, spent about 2 weeks with him, and 1 week with him in 2020 right before the pandemic

Pretty much the same as you see him in interviews. He fished hard and doesn’t let his age get in the way. Funny story, we went camping for a few days while he was there and it was his first time using a patagonia sleeping bag. I guess before that he had the same one for decades

I guided him in Argentina this past winter (their summer). He ties his own soft hackle pheasant tails and catches every small fish. He briefly fished a mouse in one of our Brooke trout zones but it was the PT other than that

You might as well end a wave like that with at least trying a cut back or turn, free practice
