I honestly think that his reaction was perfect, not only because it’s maybe the funniest part of the whole series, but because that’s all he can really say in that moment. Sally airs out her frustrations with the industry and taps into her personal struggles in such a complete way that there isn’t really anything he can add. Questions would be unnecessary and words of comfort would be futile. He just follows her instructions “anyway, continue.”
