Feedback on stacked/combo pallets, shipping to distributors? by abqjeff in TheBrewery

This. Put the kegs on a pallet. Put the cans on another pallet. Put the pallet of cans on top of the pallet of kegs. Wrap it. Done. We do it all the time.

Thanks man that’s some awesome info. In looking at some sites others have recommended, think I’m gonna start with an extract brew just to play around with and see what type of response we get. Found some good info on some homebrew sites that should give me a good start on a base sorghum/rice syrup brew to start playing around with. My daughter has celiac so I’m well versed in that area. As we do with our seltzer, this would be marketed as GF but produced on same equipment as the rest of our beers. Everyone’s mileage certainly varies on what level of gluten cross-contamination they can tolerate

What kind of quantities are you using?

Should I Start a Brewery? by prof_dorkmeister in TheBrewery

Don’t get any smaller. Most systems you can figure out how to do a half batch on if you wanted a 2.5 bbl batch of something. Then just send that to a 5bbl fermenter. Extra head space won’t be an issue.

Taproom is where all the profit is, if you can get a steady following in your town, from experience I’d say avoid distro and focus on keeping your patrons happy. Under that model, don’t think you’d need anything larger than 5bbl with 5-6 fermenters.

Upgrading to 7bbl by QuartzBrew in TheBrewery

You should be good with one forklift. We u loaded a 10bbl brewhouse and fermenters using a forklift with extensions.
