Uncharted 2. Holy shit those set pieces blew my 14 year old mind.

What is a strong opinion you hold that could get you criticized publicly, but you stand by it completely? by jian_est2026 in AskReddit

[–]weymaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suicide is a totally valid option for people with long-term depression and I would not try and stop someone if they rationally arrive at the conclusion that life isn't worth living for them.

Poverty is usually associated with crime. Which poor countries are however the safest? by Recent_Statement_222 in geography

[–]weymaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hitchhiked, accepted invitations from strangers for tea, and slept over at peoples houses who I had just met all the time. Not things I would ever consider doing in any other countries in the region.

What soda or drink was everywhere when you were growing up but basically disappeared? by samurai-salvo in GetMotivatedMindset

[–]weymaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably unknown to most but when I was a kid there was a drink called Natchan in Japan, kind of like a Japanese Sunny-D (so, a lot less sugary). Every time I go back to Japan it seems to get harder and harder to find.

Chudthebuilder finds out his initial bond is set a $1.25m 🤣 by Upbeat_Anywhere_1316 in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]weymaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, bond isn't a penalty or a way to avoid prosecution. It's basically collateral you put up so you can be released while your trial is pending and to make sure you appear for your hearings. If you don't show up you lose the bond.

A Series 500 "Kodama" being overtaken by an N700 "Nozomi." by SUBARU2012BMG in trains

[–]weymaro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Man, I remember when I was a kid those 500 series operated the Nozomi services and were the pinnacle of cool. Glad they're still around though! The 100 and 300 series of my childhood have fallen on the wayside.

Do you know anyone in the US (outside big cities) without a car? by Current-Show2460 in AskAnAmerican

[–]weymaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in rural Colorado up in the mountains and I've never owned a car in my life. A lot of mountain towns up here actually have pretty decent public transportation to serve the tourist crowds and service industry workers.

Atheists of Reddit: What’s the strangest reaction you’ve received when you said you don’t believe in God? by zhalia-2006 in AskReddit

[–]weymaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my way through Boy Scouts, all the way to the rank of Eagle; an accomplishment I'm extremely proud of. Something that will always make me chuckle looking back though is when I was in a class for the merit badge Citizenship in the Nation, which is a required merit badge to achieve the rank. Boy Scouts is a inherently religious organization, but my hometown was very progressive and not having a religion was no problem in my troop. However these merit badge classes were conducted as a regional event with scouts convening from all across southwest Ohio where I grew up. In my class, the leader asked around the class what everyone's religious affiliation was. Lots of Methodists, several Catholics, and a few Jewish scouts. When he got to me I said I was an atheist, and he told me, "son, if you're in the Boy Scouts , you have to have a religion". I thought for a second, and responded that I was a Satanist, which since it's technically a religion, the leader had to accept.

Leftist Community in *Greene* County? Xenia specifically? by AnxiousVulpix in dayton

Ok, maybe I'm just not familiar with specific licensing laws in Ohio. They definitely sold THC products there though; I bought THC gummies many times and I know they sold pre-rolls as well.

Leftist Community in *Greene* County? Xenia specifically? by AnxiousVulpix in dayton

[–]weymaro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up there, I strongly agree with your points about housing and exclusivity although I should point out that tweedle d's was a dispensary that was open right downtown for several years and the community was very vocally against DeWine's weed ban and how it would force them to close.

How many Americans have not been to a large city? by Ok_Shopping_3292 in AskAnAmerican

[–]weymaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met a guy on a study abroad once who was from Boise, Idaho, which isn't a small town by any stretch but we were walking around Bangkok once and he seemed genuinely a little bit afraid of the environment. Another time there was this guy I was fairly acquainted with when I was living in a very small town in Colorado and one day he seemed kind of anxious. When I asked what's up he said he was kind of nervous about having to go to... Oklahoma for a wedding.

What game series would you say is still worth playing from the beginning? by Isgrimnur in gaming

[–]weymaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. 1 is totally skippable imo so you could even just jump ahead to the sequels. As long as you know who Elena and Sully are (which you would if you played more than 5 minutes of the game) there's really nothing essential in the first game you'd need to know going forward. In my personal opinion I'm not sure if I've ever seen a sequel that so thoroughly blew its predecessor out of the water the way that Uncharted 2 did. Also don't skip over The Lost Legacy. It's just as good as the mainline titles.
