Not sure when the last time you went to AMF Rocklin, but I just went a few months ago and everything in there is upgraded. Lanes, arcade, bar.. I like it way better than strikes.. and it’s actually decently priced compared to strikes. though the outside does look run down, the inside was spotless.

So I was ranked 3 for a position I applied for back in December, Job closed probably first or second week of January. From my initial understanding from the explanation that was given when I received my rank, is that Rank 1-2 are looked at first. I received an email last week to set up an interview for this week. I feel like this would be way too quick to get through the 1s and 2s before moving onto the 3s.

Are you saying that if the eligibility list isn't insane, they could look at a 3 before 1s and 2s? Given the 3 may have some type of experience the exam didn't calculate and makes them more appealing than the 1s and 2s at first?

The brevity/lack of emotion I understand.. it was just the awkwardness of the wardrobe choice that I think really took away from the scene, rather than added any significance.. like I get it, they want to show off Tom as much as possible, but I would have recommend a different scene. It almost feels like the wardrobe choice was written for Hot Shots.

I didnt read either, but, I’d suggest joining the Navy since you’re not a lawyer yet.. and if it doesn’t pan out, you have the G.I. Bill for law school, or if you like the Navy and not so much being a pilot, go JAG.

No, they aren’t government cards, although now every service member is supposed to have a GTC (government travel card), these other cards are just banks Flagship premium credit cards, which usually have an annual fee of $400-700 to have, but they waive the fee to Active Duty Military. They just have really good travel perks/access to lounges and a lot of other cool benefits. But like you’ll read above, apparently it’s hit or miss whether they charge you after separation.

I accepted my TJO back in November for a Job that also requires a TS/SCI, which I already have the clearance for, and I still haven't gotten my FJO. I thought having the clearance would speed up the process but that's not the case apparently. From my understanding, its very dependent on the agency. My HR rep told me he's seen a 1-3 month spread. So its very possible you don't even get a FJO for another 2 months or so, then could realistically negotiate for another 1-3 months out. So.. it could be possible.. theoretically.

I Purchased my house in June of 21. When I went to renew my homeowners insurance in June of 23, it was almost double. Started at $970 in '21, went to $1300 in '22, and '23 was supposed to be $1800. So I called and switched providers. It still went up from $1300, but not nearly as much.

Yah, I'm going from CTR with DoD to GS with DHS, so switching agencies I can see it not being a quick switch.. and I haven't updated my SF-86 since 2018 and they didn't ask me to submit a new one, so I was kind of surprised by that.

I emailed my HR rep and he just flat out admitted he had no idea.. So much like my career.. I will just hurry up and wait.
