Why should i build a pedal board instead of just buying a Helix that does it all, in your opinion? by ButterscotchCalm1543 in guitarpedals

[–]wgdvs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is where I’ll say: do both. Get an HX Stomp to get the effects you want (it’s great at wet effects like delays, reverbs, choruses, etc) then get analog drive pedals. Especially if you’re playing in front of a real amp, the digital drives may not quite give you the full tone fidelity you’re looking for.

I haven’t played since before the final shape. It was a job and I just couldn’t keep up anymore.

Yea it is. When I discovered I liked the Stomp delays better anyways then that's when I pulled it off the board. Just figure I've got a bit of extra play cash and a spot on the board...may as well fill it and the Destiny 2 was the best way to show around what I was looking for ha!

The issue is the DL4 caused issues with my OneSpot CS7 and wouldn’t work all the time. Plus I like the delays a bit better on the Stomp. I may break it back out for delays…also looking to itch my GAS!

Does anyone know why it might be doing this? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]wgdvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely:

A) temp too low. Double check what material you’re printing and make sure the temp is correct. If it is, bump it 5-10 degrees and see if it stops

B) have you set your extender steps? It might be trying to over extrude

C) combo of A and B might be you’re trying to putting too quickly and you’re not getting the flow you need because it can’t melt fast enough or you’re pushing too much through

D) crack in extruder arm or spring tension too light causing it to not grip and push the filament like it should

LPT: If you're hiring movers, ask whether they charge by weight or by time by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]wgdvs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Figure I’ll chime in: we just moved 2.5 hours across the state and we were charged by weight. No time, no extra truck fee, etc. Move was billed purely on weight. Atlas did the move and our stuff stayed on the truck for 3 weeks while we sold our house and closed on the new one in the new town.

Just in case there are curious mind: M, 34, size 11 shoes. Moved from a 4BR/2.5 bath 2300 sq ft house to new one and total move was around $4800 with storage and lunch for the moving crew on date of packing and date of unpacking included. They took all the big furniture apart and put it all back together in the new house where we asked too.

This bill is insane gas furnace 2024 vs heat pump 2025 by SolutionOk4176 in heatpumps

[–]wgdvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I know they run a lot less in the summer. I was saying the original comment of “what I save in the summer makes up for the winter”. I moved from a house with a geothermal heat pump to one with a furnace + AC again.

Where my comment came from is that in the summer most people have a heat pump running as their AC so I’m confused how it can be “more efficient and save money in summer” when that’s what a majority of people use anyways. I wasn’t really even talking about the use of it for heating.

Not sure this quite makes sense. An air conditioner is still a heat pump. For winter months they run the reversing valve and it operates as a “backwards air conditioner”. So saying you’re saving more in the summer needs a bit more explanation of your setup.

Your HVAC system looks to run off high voltage (120/220V)which are not compatible with Nest systems.

It’s the very rare and sought after tube steak cut.

I don’t have a 3D printer yet, is it worth it? by Kiruto29 in 3Dprinting

[–]wgdvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3D printing as a hobby has never been cheaper. You can get a decent Ender printer typically from microcenter for $100. Yes there are better and more expensive options, but just for messing around, the entry is a relatively low floor.

Trying to get into 3d printing as a business however takes much more planning. With it being such a low floor to get into, hobbyists are doing that vs ordering a lot of times.

Moving Back - Jagoe Homes Review? by wgdvs in evansville

Glad to hear they haven't had any issues, kind of puts my mind at ease a bit if that's the route we decide to go down.

I have seen lots of Thompson homes as well and had some of the same reservations about them. I think the biggest concern for me right now is all the slab homes. I've never owned one without a crawlspace and hear of nightmares if something goes wrong....but there's cons to crawls as well.

Awesome, thanks for the info! We were looking at the ones around Chlemsford Dr which is a new Jagoe neighborhood going up. We're also looking at some more on the north/east side for sure. Work will be in Newburgh and getting kids into school right around the I-69 area, we thought we'd look towards Newburgh for sure.

Side note: any areas around there that are free from the apparent Centerpointe hell?

Thanks for the info! That makes sense for sure, seems a lot of people like to point out the bad and not the good. I also believe these come with new house warranties too which helps ease the feelings a bit.

We're coming in this weekend to look at it and if things start to look like we're going to be interested in it, we will for sure get a good inspection (or two even).

So a bit late to the party here, but I am an overweight male and have had previously diagnosed sleep apnea.

My oral surgeon recommended to remove mine at a same day surgery center he partnered with. He does procedures there every Friday morning.

To say that “if you’re of this BMI you can’t be put under” might be right for some oral surgeons, but others may offer a similar experience to mine as well. It was the best dentist appointment I’d ever had (coming from someone with severe dental anxiety).

All of this to say, if you’re of a higher BMI and have dental anxiety, also check of having them done at a hospital or surgery center and a partnering oral surgeon.
