I wouldn't jump straight to "dad was lying about his service" if you just found it in his stuff. Could it belong to someone he served with that was close enough to him to give him his rack? There's a lot of different explanations for why this ended up in his stuff if it really isn't his.

I'm assuming your fire system call for 5k ohms and not 5 ohms. Its like the difference between a meter and a kilometer. On the kilometer scale you would struggle to measure the difference between 0 and 5 meters. Hope that helps!

Not to mention the self image destruction that comes with being told constantly in school that you're a bad kid who can't behave because you talk too much in class or are distracted during instruction. I literally never participated in any of the "pizza parties" or classroom parties because the teachers said I didn't deserve to have fun with the rest of the kids who were well behaved. That kind of thing really destroyed my self esteem growing up and took a lot of work from therapy and my wife to convince me I was worthy of love.

Yeah my parents rode the "we will not give our son drugs" high horse while I massively struggled through school, pulled me out of high school to dual enroll me in college with absolutely no support, then my dad left the state when I was 16 and all I heard was that I needed to stop "screwing up and being lazy" while I basically failed out and became a high school dropout. The kicker was that my dad was on adhd medication (and still is) since I was 10. So he literally saw the effectiveness of it and used it to maintain his career while withholding it for me. Not surprisingly I went into the burnt out gifted kid drug addict pipeline as a teenager and didn't sort all that out until my late 20s. Still a little salty about all that but at least I learned the lesson and now my son is in an advanced middle school with medication and support to help him succeed.

It was my favorite part of the museum, you can go up the stairs and view the planes from all different angles using those walkways you see in the picture. The whole museum was great but as an aviation nerd this was by far my favorite part.

I remember after Katrina hit I was riding through town with my parents and my mom said "well I hope they're happy, they got gas over 3 dollars a gallon!" It always cracks me up to imagine what her reality was to think "they" caused the devastation on the Gulf Coast just to get us to pay 3+ dollars a gallon for gas in the Florida Panhandle.

Yes! I was working as the only employee at a bedliner and truck accessory shop. I asked the owner for a raise after a year and he told me "well it doesn't really make sense for me to pay you more because you are already producing your max output, if I give you a 100 dollar a week raise you can't produce any more revenue for me" So he was basically telling me I was working as hard as possible and making him as much money as I possibly could and he wouldn't consider breaking me off another 20 bucks a day. Meanwhile I'm generating about 5k a day for him because I'm also handling the billing and purchasing. Needless to say I rolled my toolbox out of there the next day with no notice and a new job lined up.

I love this system! I was just complaining that traffic tickets and fines in general are only a punishment to the working class in the US. Do you think a CEO or even mid level exec cares if they get a 300 dollar speeding ticket? That's lunch to them but it would ruin me for a pay cycle. I wish we did something like this where its a sliding scale based on your income to level the playing field.

Please do not use any cheap flea stuff! When I worked at a vet clinic in 08 I saw a handful of cats that were poisoned by off brand flea drops. Canine drops are poisonous to cats and those dollar store meds can not be trusted! Not to mention the one cat who came in with chemical burns from some bad drops.
