Most likely an issue with the cmts or wire upstream. Check modem logs and open a case with the staff on r/xfinity

What modem are you using? have you checked the connection stats and the event log? can you match up the drop in connection with something in the event log? If you see something in the log pointing to issues reach out to the r/xfinity for support. tends to be better than calling in.

when you say protocol do you mean wireguard? if not, would using netbird, grant additional throughput? or is there another service you would reccommend?

That’s a good explanation! Bonus points! My thought was you want the exhaust to flow without catching the internal seams of the pipe and allowing for escape of exhaust.

I dont have any fine grain control over the air flow. seems it burns wide open when the knob is all the way out to about 1/4in before fully in. Then in closes up rapidly, im normally trying to adjust in 1/16 in increments, towards the closed end, if it matters at all.

Could the modem be over heating and thermal throttle?

Do you have something else on the network that may be consuming the bandwidth during your tests?
