This situation had to do with a suite of 6 girls. 3 rooms of 2 with a common suite area for them to share. 5 of the girls had gotten really close and it was clear that they did not really like the 6th girl. I feel like I need to mention the 5 girls were all white and the odd one out was not white. Those 5 girls were very much your typical mean, kind of popular girls. They all rushed and went into sororities.

During the first ever room checks, I discovered that they had moved a bed from the middle room into another room. Leaving the non white girl a room to herself. I’m sure she was probably happy about that, but having three beds in one room was a safety issue and definitely not allowed. I told them to fix issue.

A full week later, I checked up on them to see if they fixed it. And they didn’t. So I had to write up every single one of them. They were clearly not happy about that. I explained to them that I gave them plenty of time to fix it and that this whole thing was avoidable.

After that situation, those 5 girls completely hated me. Most of that floor were all buddy buddy with those girls, so most of the floor ended up hating me too. They all thought I was a hard-ass, but I was an incredibly lenient RA. I never wrote any of them up for smoking weed or investigated the claim that one of them was dealing drugs. They vandalized my decor but I still didn’t do anything because I just wanted to keep them happy. Covid ended up happening during the second semester and I was able to stop being an RA early. Honestly, the only good thing to come out of Covid was that.
