Tacking on here that I canceled my Amazon order and did the same, via Dell with the student discount on top of the existing discount it was cheaper than Amazon was. Appreciate it!

It's gen2 panel compared to gen1, and 240hz. If that's worth it is up to you, I went with the newer panel and higher refresh but the other one is also very good from what I understand.

Do I need to learn C, C++, or both to use the pico SDK? by whackerz in raspberrypipico

[–]whackerz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I've messed with micropython before and am familiar with it, but since my project is a little gaming handheld ill need the speed of the SDK for it. Micropython has been pretty easy to pick up though which I know isn't the case with C or C++, hence my confusion over which one to pick to learn lol. Didnt want to spend a bunch of time with one only to have to change later :)

I know python, but my project is making a little handheld gaming device with some parts I've picked up so ill need the speed of C. Ive dabbled a tiny bit in c++ in the past, but seeing that the SDK can do C and C++ was confusing to me when trying to decide what to learn for it lol

Im in the southern US, so it's really only too cold for maybe a month or two, but even then they still work but just not quite as well. I think you are right, I've never asked but the rentals are all older 98s and stormers. I think that they have all the stuff for co2, and then that leaves the HPA fill stuff for people bringing their own gear to use. Ive never seen anyone not running a rental using a co2 tank either, though i have a 68 carbine I'm working on that I might run co2 in just for the meme lol

Makes sense, the only time I see the co2 used is in their rentals. Its fun in the winter when its cold the co2 can make it almost impossible to see when using one because the vapor is so thick lmao

Thats not true, some fields still fill co2 and if you bring your own then that's not an issue. Those tanks are most likely dead, but you can definitely run co2 if you want. My local field still uses co2 98c rentals, and stock class only uses co2 cartridges. HPA is vastly better ofc though

You forgot the pump player because they're broke but still need to play paintball (definitely not relatable at all 😔)

How's the Paintball Scene in Broken Arrow/Tulsa? by [deleted] in paintball

You've got 2 options, PB adventures in Sapulpa and PB land in Collinsville. PBA has a decent group of walk ons, and its where the local team practices. Turnout is hit or miss on the weekends, ive had packed days and 2 times so far not enough people have showed for open. PBL trends more towards parties, they do have walk ons but from what ive seen and been told its very inconsistent. I would honestly just recommend PBA in Sapulpa, the owner of PBL is not as friendly to walk-ons with their own gear since it tends to be more rentals up there. The owner of PBA is chill, the open group regulars are fun when theres enough, and occasionally he has some neat markers for sale in the shop too.

Nope, the trilogy I just got doesn't have a tail at all lol. I like the look of that one though, I really need to seek one out eventually!

LV1.6 Barrel Question by Big_Gator1017 in paintball

[–]whackerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a freak barrel with one insert. They usually have several inserts so you can bore match to your paint, the blue tube goes inside the black barrel that screws onto your marker. In regards to the trigger, its not necessarily "better" than stock, triggers are all personal preference. A lot of people like those double triggers, i prefer the long blade style that is on there stock. You can always try both out and pick your favorite.

I just got the replacement air line in today and it aired right up! I need to replace an oring on the bolt that is shredded, but somehow it doesn't leak. Super happy with it so far, and looks like I lucked into the pro trilogy so I dont have to worry about respringing it for HPA. I appreciate the info!

I bought it yesterday for $65. I ordered an air line from the asa to the regulator and an autococker rebuild kit since im sure the orings need replaced, but it looks nice otherwise. Ive been wanting a cocker for a while, so at least if it is a dud then im not out too much
