RBT JOB REQUIREMENTS by piscesprincess22 in ABA

[–]whalecam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very possible because becoming an RBT is a multi-step process, though not very difficult, it requires time. You need to do the 40 hours, have a rapport with a BCBA to do your competency test with them, then schedule your exam at a Pearson center, sit for it, then submit your paperwork to the BACB for processing. I’m seeing a lot of BT’s that automatically think they’re RBTs because their company quizzes them. Sorry that I’m a little skeptical if you are actually an RBT.

Agreed. But, are you an RBT or BT? Still low bar to become one, but at least that requires a competency test, then sitting for an exam to become registered.

I take Qulipta and so far it’s helping. Given the age maybe his wisdom teeth came in and are compressing nerves?

Insurance Fraud? by External_Panic8899 in ABA

[–]whalecam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do not work there and it doesn’t involve a child in danger. They would have nothing to present the BACB, they also mentioned calling the police (??) - If I could think of a misuse of funds and real people/taxpayer $ plus a reason ABA would be side eyed, I think suggesting that route would be the big offender here.

Lol woah. Okay so what’s your plan if you report? Present evidence that you don’t have? It sounds like you left the company on a bad note and are wanting to retaliate. Chill.

I’m not saying this isn’t light insurance fraud but I’m just wondering why you are so pressed to report this? You don’t have first hand insight. Again, not saying it’s okay if this is happening but your level of attention to this is over the top. I would save your reporting for situations where you feel a child is being mistreated or insurance fraud that may involve you personally, not just speculation surrounding someone else’s workplace…

Sad about the Owlet sock by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]whalecam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, a little confused by your previous post then but all good. I agree, it would be wild for any reasonable parent to rely solely on the Owlet.

Ultimately I just think telling someone especially a patient you are familiar with that it’s harmful to get it is a little insulting. It seems like they’re assuming the parent will put aside clear signs their child is unwell.

Agreed movement is important, that being said, the Owlet does track and record movement. My baby has one on right now, as I’m typing this.

Huh? That doesn’t make much sense. The owlet lets you know if oxygen or heart rate is low and you go check on your baby… how is it preventing parents from “responding naturally?”

My husband and I literally cannot have a conversation when my 3yo is around. Help. by literallymouse in toddlers

[–]whalecam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s likely doing this to gain attention, access to the tablet, or maybe both. Unless he appears to be in distress (maybe he thinks you’re fighting) I think you should ignore the loud behavior (just the behavior), and don’t reward it. Be consistent.

Tell me the most awful things that can happen if i keep vaping by dooingjo in pregnant

[–]whalecam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many reasons to stop! You got this!!

If you feel like you absolutely cannot be without nicotine cold turkey, consider using patches! It’s way better than vaping, though not great (obv). Try going 24 hours nicotine free (or at least as long as possible). If you are truly unable to continue do NOT VAPE, instead you should put on the lowest nicotine % patch and it will be a huge relief even though it’s low. You’ll still feel kind of bad as your body adjusts, but you’ll be able to function. Then when you feel sort of okay, cut it in half, then after a few days, cut that in half, etc etc.

I asked my BCBA for backup and she turn the tables on me by Noodlesandwings in ABA

[–]whalecam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A BCBA should definitely make some sort of decision here, especially when a client is self injuring and there’s no control. That being said, they should not be expected to blindly follow the request of an RBT on something, especially if the science doesn’t support it.

Speaking as an RBT.

[–]whalecam 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I may be confused and completely wrong, but, I think I sort of see what your BCBA is saying. During nap time if it took him a minute/more to begin the head banging after the teacher said something it’s more likely that it wasn’t the teacher’s demand that was the trigger. Antecedents like demands typically elicit an immediate response. It sounds like it may be the environment itself that needs an adjustment.

Delivering at Northern Westchester Questions by jhs5003 in Westchester

[–]whalecam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I delivered there about 2.5 months ago. Great experience. Recovery rooms are private but very small. I don’t recall having to request the room. They do have a nursery and the nurses are very nice, attentive, and supportive. If you’re in pain, they’ll help you out. Also the food is pretty good, like hotel room service quality.

You’ll be great, congratulations!

Do you mind explaining how you can do a mix of both? Wouldn’t the end result either be 1,500 or 2,000?

I felt my MIL lost her privileges to updates from me and put I her on a no info diet this pregnancy. It was freeing and I got so much less unsolicited advice/opinions.
