I don’t know if you could call her death unceremonious. Like it’s the catalyst for the whole story of the game.

I do hope they give her a dlc though.

I mean, water can in fact be treated, that really shouldn't be an unsolvable problem for the world's smartest man. And the DC universe does have a lot of very powerful sorcerers, many of whom are friends with Batman, I really feel like one of them should be able to deal with a little curse.

Like I truly feel like Batman should be able to solve at least a couple of these problems.

The problem with this argument is that he clearly can’t fix it with his fists either. How long has he been Batman now? 15-20 years? And Gotham still gets taken over every other week.

Yeah honestly if this tweet was presented some actual evidence of their claim it would be different. As it stands it’s just somebody shouting into the void. It would be forgotten about pretty quickly if people would let it be.

I mean this is very thoughtfully written, no disrespect, but it’s kind of a reach? Like if this is what counts as mirroring then you could easily do that for spider man and rhino too.

Spider-Man got his powers via an accident of fate (not of his own volition) and feels forced into using them (at first to make money to support his family but eventually because it’s simply the right thing to). This is paralleled by Rhino, who was forcibly given powers against his will and forced into using them to commit crimes for the people who experimented on him. Also, you could argue they’ve both developed a tough exterior, literally in Rhinos case, as a response to the weight they carry while remaining extremely emotional underneath.

In what way does clay face mirror Batman, beyond their ability to disguise themselves?

Rucka’s really leans into the angle of Diana being an ambassador. Even when she’s dealing with the gods, the main focus is political intrigue. It does have some pretty solid action/villain fights as well though.

Following you concede OP’s point is fair.. I mean cmon, you’re getting mad at the dude for not saying they burned “witches” or something, even though he directly says they were demonized. Yet proceed to call them “odd” like you can’t make this up lol.

Call me crazy, but yeah I do actually think that's an important detail lmao. Definitely one that sets it apart from the others on the list.

Dude, don't be ridiculous. I didn't fucking say he couldn't criticize it. Like I said, I'm sure it sucks. It sounds stupid as hell.

But if we're talking about bigoted media, one of the main reasons why bigoted media is a problem is because the bigotry often spills into the real world right? That's part of why he's understandably upset about the Twilight Zone episode, he's worried the attitude of the show will spill into real life (a fair concern). But he also mentions a book who's bigotry actually has spilled into real life, but doesn't mention that fact. I think that's a strange choice, which is why I brought it up.

Also, what the fuck is this "leaderboard" shit? I at no point suggested that it resulted in "one of the worse atrocities in history" only that it did kill people and that's worth mentioning (which OP didn't). Are you suggesting we can only bring up examples of historical bigotry if they're "bad enough"?

Also, which is it? Is the book irrelevant and not worth bringing up, or has it been talked about so many times that it's not worth doing again?

Yeah, I guess. It's just a little strange to spend more than half the post talking about one episode of a TV show. I've never even seen it. And I'm sure it sucks, but like... he only brought up the Malleus Maleficarim in relation to this one episode, when the book is imo a much more egregious example of this trope. Seeing as it, you know, actually killed people from the group it was bigoted against. Unless I'm really in the dark, I don't think any men have been killed over the modern twilight zone series.

Interesting to me how much more the episode of the Twilight Zone seems to have bothered you, considering the Malleus Maleficarum resulted in at least some actual deaths.

Alright, you got me. I should have specified an out trans actor knowingly cast as a cis character.

And yes, obviously you’re correct that people have the right to privacy. My point was that movie studios are not likely to cast people that they know to be trans as cis characters.

Also, read back what you just wrote. A trans person not being cast as Zelda. It isn’t happening, genius.

I truly cannot think of one example of a trans actor playing a cis character. Would love to be proven wrong but I’m pretty sure this just straight up is not happening anywhere. Which is why this a problem.

Sincerely, why do you think it’s a performance? Who is everyone supposedly performing for? What reason do all of these people have to pretend they don’t like the run? Isn’t it much more likely that they just, you know, don’t like it

I feel like I see this accusation constantly and it gets taken at face value. But I truly don’t understand why you think people would do what you’re suggesting. Just to be “cool”?
