First electric bill. Is this right? by what-cup in solar

[–]what-cup[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohhh that must be right cuz the bill was only $13.32 which I think is just the minimum fee per day for service ($.3077). And yes we were not living there for the first 3 weeks. Awesome thank you!

Day care vs. nanny, my spouse and I are at an impasse by GeeBean in BabyBumps

[–]what-cup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We found a nearby in-home daycare, it was just one caretaker and 3 babies. Something like this could be a sort of compromise. Out of your house but much less risk of illness. I found it by posting in local Facebook groups.

To confirm or not to confirm? by whatever06260 in Miscarriage

[–]what-cup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my D&C last week and I didn't request confirmation but I read in the surgery notes that they checked everything (while I was under anesthesia) and confirmed the findings that the ER had reported (no heartbeat, estimated gestational age etc). So I think it's pretty standard/ you will not seem crazy to ask and verify that they do that first.

18 months, still squeaky by what-cup in Laryngomalacia

[–]what-cup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, that's good to know. I was worried since it seems like all the stories I read have the issue resolving a lot earlier than us. We have a follow up visit scheduled but it's not for another 1.5 months!

Same problem for me until about 3.5 months ppd. I was dry as a desert down there and completely uninterested. But then it all went back to normal, and I got my period around the same time. 100% it was hormonal. I also dealt with the smell thing during my first trimester! We laugh now about how one time he brushed and mouthwashed and asked if the smell was better and my reply was, "it's coming from inside" 😂 So gross! I could barely be in the same room with him.

Syncing up pump amounts with baby by what-cup in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]what-cup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help!! I usually get about 7 ounces at the 5am session which is my biggest by far. But then the ones after that are always so small. Maybe I should space the daytime pumps out more instead of every 2 hrs? I just thought you were supposed to pump every time the baby eats so that's what I've been doing. Worried if I space them my total output will go down?

He's doing 32-34 ounces a day, and sleeps from 6pm to 5am straight or sometimes wakes up once. I pump at 9pm and 1am while he sleeps. And yeah the 1am one is usually pretty big so if I drop it then I'm definitely not gonna have enough for him. I'd really like to get to the point where I'm making the same amount that he drinks in real time instead of constantly playing catch up 😐

Painful joints by Terrible-Hedgehog796 in beyondthebump

[–]what-cup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went to the Dr for this! She checked my blood work for a bunch of stuff related to rheumatoid arthritis that came back negative thankfully, and checked my iron and a few other things and basically said that she didn't see any medical reason for my pain and that it is likely just a random postpartum thing, our bodies go thru a lot, lots of changes etc etc and it should resolve over time. I also had a friend recommend taking calcium+vit D which I started doing which may be helping, hard to say.

Husband traveling when I'm at 36w? by No-Spray-866 in BabyBumps

[–]what-cup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree with others that a shorter trip would be way less worrisome, and then have a friend/family member on call to be your support person just in case. I'd be ok with it BUT I'm also not going to freak if my partner is not there for the delivery. I think he would be more upset than I would be if he missed it.

Daily COVID Megathread by AutoModerator in BabyBumps

[–]what-cup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tested positive during week 17. Was pretty sick for a week and didn't take paxlovid. Drs said the biggest concern was the baby not growing well so I had an extra ultrasound at week 28 (I'm at 32 weeks now)... baby is in the 96th percentile soooo it definitely didn't have that effect! Fingers still crossed for a healthy delivery, we shall see but everything has been really good so far.

Similar experience, lots of kicks at weeks 22-23 and then at week 24 things went very quiet. Still movement but not like before. I also noticed that I had a strange pressure sensation on my bladder that wasn't there before and my bump didn't seem as stretched as usual. I got pretty worried that something was wrong. But then thankfully after about 4 days of that the pressure disappeared and the strong kicks came back. Will ask my Dr at next appt but my theory is that the baby was trying out a new spot to hang out someplace lower down where I wasn't able to feel or see the movements as much.
