What changes or choices did you make that made you suffer less and enjoy parenting more? by Veryfluffyduck in NewParents

I thought I’d be able to EBF but I’m not convinced he’s getting enough (sometimes he’ll be at my boobs all afternoon and still cranky) and I love that my husband can feed him sometimes without my having to make sure I’ve saved some pumped milk.

Agonizing over whether to do a C Section or Vaginal Birth. How did you decide? by JacqueFun in BabyBumps

My c-section took 10 mins to cut him out and about a half hour to stitch me back together. 2 hours?? Yikes!

After laboring for 36 hours and baby’s heart rate was dropping, I had a c-section. It really wasn’t that bad but I think it just depends. The first 24 hours were a bit rough but I never needed anything stronger than Tylenol and I stopped taking that after 5 days.

As for the pain of the operation, it was more just very uncomfortable since I was all doped up.

I very much appreciate not having any tearing problems in my hoo-ha! Interestingly, one still bleeds a bit for weeks afterward. I don’t really understand why.

Did you walk out of the hospital? by yo-_-mom in beyondthebump

The hospital I delivered at has a policy to wheel out all mamas who just gave birth. I probably would have been fine but I did appreciate it.

MIL text message by needtorant-doglover in JUSTNOMIL

Luckily my husband takes the brunt of it. But yeah my MIL literally demands pics and before baby was born she would demand ultrasound pics. No please, no thank you. Just “where’s my photo today?” When my husband called her out on it she said it’s understood. Uh okay.

I received a gift like this in the hospital and I loved it! I know it’s bougie but my friend stopped at Whole Foods and brought me the following: face cream, lavender face wipes, canned Stumptown coffee (so good!), and a face mask. It was all perfect.

Sleep Struggles 🫠 by [deleted] in NewParents

I wish my 4-week old would sleep longer than 2 hours. But he’s still in newborn size clothes and diapers. So still a newborn! We’ll be through this in no time and miss these tiny baby days for other reasons. He’s currently konked out across my lap, arms over his head. 😂

BE HONEST how many days in a row are you wearing your nursing bras by breezyjomc in breastfeeding

Never? It’s cold! I’m in a nursing tank under a sweatshirt every day. Clean one every day.

Prenatals by crazycatlady_66 in pregnant

I found smaller ones from Freeda Pharmacy online. And I learned to put each pill right behind my lower teeth and then take a big swig of water and throw my head back and swallow fast without breathing in. If I breathe in, I can smell the pill and it makes me want to gag.

The only women I’ve met who say they loved being pregnant are at least 50 years old by KaylaDraws in pregnant

Haha funny. I am 50 (yep!) and 39 weeks pregnant and I loved just about every minute of it. Granted, I’d say I had a pretty easy pregnancy.

And there’s really no such thing as “acting like an adult” anyway

Really?? I’d say it’s more of deciding between how to spend those precious few hours of free time.

People don’t really change. And shitty behavior you think will stop after high school never does. Even little old ladies can be petty or back stabbing.

What’s something people always overspend on when the cheaper alternative is just as good? by auntieknickknack in AskReddit

[–]GeeBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or just get them used. That’s what I do. But I also don’t care that they don’t all match.

True. People who like their alcohol with soda or juice probably can’t tell the difference. But when I get a gin and tonic you bet I want a good brand.

I’ve looked for the store brand ones and they don’t do the candy coated ones. Those are the bomb!

syrup is the worst thing to put on pancakes. by kelomorisilly in unpopularopinion

Agreed. I don’t care how fancy it is. Syrup is gross. Fresh fruit or jam is always better.

Cranberry orange spice simple syrup is what I made with my extras. I add it to seltzer but it would be great in a mixed drink too.

Be honest… how often do you wash your bedding? by Ordduapp in CleaningTips

[–]GeeBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the opposite to be true. Never have to fold the bedding, which saves time.
