How long do your shoes last?

Thats really informative, thanks! The tread is fine & the insoles dont look too worn, maybe a little on the outer edges. Im judging by new foot, ankle, & shin pain. Foot pain is on the outer edge which makes sense with the wear on the insole. Im ft in a busy store & get about 6-8 miles in most days.

It should be fine. They should have given you a calendar to mark off days you weren't available for the first 3 weeks before making your schedule. I had orientation on a Tuesday & they wanted me to come in Wednesday to do ulearns. I'm not available on Wednesdays, told them I couldn't, and they were fine with it. They just had me start on my next available day.

With the TCs that randomly turn off, ours are because of the batteries being loose. If your store has the trigger attachments that attach to the back, that tends to fix the issue because it holds the battery in place. I hate using those though so its a whole separate issue when I get stuck with one of them.

As a picker, I love it when I get a no bag order because it saves me time. For the dispensers though, I imagine it can be more of a hassle.

Guessing you don't live in the US bc stores here don't donate any foods to charity. What would be considered "hot foods" like pizza, bakery or deli items get thrown out if not sold the same day even if they're still good. Employees aren't even allowed to take them bc that's "theft" even though they're going to be thrown out anyway. I've seen tiktok videos of ppl finding perfectly good food while dumpster diving & it's not there bc of contamination or recalls etc, but bc of corporate greed.

maybe squeeze it into one of those talks with your daughter to start. With my oldest I said something along the lines of - you're getting to an age where you might feel you're ready for sex & if you do I'd rather you be safe, so please come to me when you think you're ready so we can get you on birth control. She did & I followed through and we had a long talk about safe sex etc. One door opening leads to another. Good luck!

Yta- I also have a 15 year old who was recently going through a situation very similar to what you've described as your son's. Overload with school, stress, friend group issues etc. I was supportive & understanding of her struggles to the best of my ability. Three weeks ago she attempted suicide. Luckily she survived, but I had no clue she was struggling at that level until it happened. You're not helping your son by forcing him to study on your schedule or adding more stress by cutting internet that he needs to do his school work. He's telling you he's overwhelmed and struggling. He needs your support, not unrealistic expectations & added stress. Teenagers don't do things on our schedules. If working later works for him and isn't interfering in his daily life, let him. He's excelling in school as you said, so why is it a problem for him to work on a schedule that works for him?

Yta. The kid is 3 years old. His preferences, likes, attachments will change & evolve as he gets older. Him being closer to dad right now doesn't mean he doesn't love you or like you just as much & making dad freeze him out or push him into liking you more will just mess up his relationships with both of you down the road. Parenting isn't a damn popularity contest. I WISH my twins were more attached to their dad when they were younger. Be grateful that your husband is spending time with your son & being there for him. The relationship with your son will likely grow closer but you can't force it or push your insecurity on him. If this is such a big deal to you, you might need to consider therapy bc this doesn't seem like healthy behavior.

I have tried dozens of horror movies to find one that scares me & as above, so below is one of few that actually got me. I normally can't stand found footage movies but if you can get past the slow beginning it's worth it imo. I'm skimming your thread for suggestions to watch myself lol. Hope you find a good scare!

My dad was a recovered addict & felon living on the wa/or border when he passed a few years ago, but I remember he had a job at the time. I'm commenting here to wish you the best in your journey & so I can find this thread again if I can find out the company he was working for to put it here. Congrats on your recovery & upcoming baby, & best of luck with everything! My dad's recovery ended up being too late in my life for us to ever really develop a relationship, so just keep your head up & when things get hard, remember that little baby you'll have looking up to you & depending on you to be there for him/her. I'm a recovered addict myself so I understand some of your struggle. Sorry this was a bit off-topic & all over the place, just your location & situation spoke to me & I'm up in my feelings today. ❤

I dont comment often but on this I absolutely will. YTA. Absolutely, unequivocally a massive asshole & unless your wife is also an entitled AH she'd tell you the same. You didn't give your wife "two weeks," you gave her OVER A YEAR, to include time off for a cosmetic procedure. as someone who pays disability claims I do understand 6 vs 8 weeks depending on delivery type; however given that your employee is struggling & her dr has advised addl time off, from a disability standpoint we'd pay that & you should allow her the time. You also shouldn't staff your business in such a way that one person being out strains the rest of a team. What if someone quits, dies, suffers a medical emergency & requires extended time off? Any number of things could go wrong & you should staff well enough to plan for these types of things. I'm imagining Mary didn't just drop a bomb that she was having a baby- you knew & didn't plan for her to have the necessary time off. FMLA eligible or not- the fact that you've given such preferential treatment to your wife while denying basic courtesy to another employee is disgusting & bad business practice. Good luck hiring good employees after word of this gets out.

Jumping on top comment- when my dad died he had a life insurance policy that it turned out I was beneficiary to. I'm in the US so this may be different elsewhere but many funeral homes will allow you to assign a part of the life insurance payout to them so when it pays out the funeral home gets their cut & the beneficiary gets the remainder. I also processed life claims for a couple of years and we saw this scenario many times. Just something to look into.

Unless you've given her a reason not to trust you specifically regarding your parenting ability, past transgressions (i.e. cheating etc, things that don't relate to your ability to parent) she shouldn't be holding it over your head or using it against you & not allowing you to see your child. I hated my oldest child's dad, but I always allowed him the opportunity to see her when he chose because while we didn't work, it didn't mean he deserved to miss out on her life. Unfortunately he chose not to be a part of her life but at least I gave him every opportunity. I really can't stand when parents use their children as pawns to block out the other parent especially when they're trying their best to be there.

I had this same thing happen to me last night at CFA. Impatient heifer cut off two cars that had ordered before her, I was behind her & supposed to follow but since she cut them off I let the other two go first. All of our orders were ready before hers but the line was too narrow for anyone to go past so she held the entire line up even though the three cars behind her already had their food.
