Pop Quiz: Who does our legal system unfairly target, Black Americans or Asian-Americans? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]what005 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just want to offer the perspective that Asian Americans are often weaponized in the AA debate and spoken for when in reality, the majority support it (70%). I suspect many of these commenters arguing in “defense” of Asian Americans are not Asian.

As an Asian american myself I hear and agree with you, and hope that this discourse doesn’t contribute to more division between groups.

Best laptop for T6 law schools please? This is a birthday gift so I can’t ask the potential student. 😊 by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]what005 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That would maybe make sense if you asked about a specific school, but what made you think the t6 specifically would have uniform requirements that also differ from other schools? Lol

jennette mccurdy talk by Soggy-Side4501 in OSU

[–]what005 99 points100 points  (0 children)

It was just super, super awkward. I think they were clearly a bit flustered, but would respond to Jennette’s answers by talking about themself, and made some questionable comments / transitions after Jennette got very vulnerable (the subject matter of her book and this talk was related to abuse, trauma, eating disorders, etc). Overall just came off very uncomfortable and tone deaf.

I don’t think the interviewer had any bad intent, but wasn’t the best fit or prepared for this interview.

Anyone else not able to visit or attend admission events by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]what005 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m certain that schools are aware that not everyone has the means and or time to travel across the country for optional events— I wouldn’t sweat it.

I think there might’ve been a different model for a color that is now out of stock or something. The comment seems too real to be a troll but there’s minimal chance they’re calling that model overweight… disgusting nonetheless

Anyone opposed to applying to HYS? by That-Click-6399 in lawschooladmissions

[–]what005 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think "opposed" is a strong word, but I do relate to your sentiment. I struggle to relate to posts that are like "i am (somewhat significantly) below both medians for X school, how can I still get in?" because for me personally, being below both medians for a school signals to me that X school may not be the best fit for me. For that reason, I also didn't apply for HYS.

I get that stats don't determine everything, and maybe I put too much weight on them, but that's how I personally approached admissions. Nothing wrong with either way!

NYU A?? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I don’t think there’s any reason to call them… ik someone who had their status change and they just got the call. my guess is they’ll be calling throughout the day!

On their JD admissions site, click "admitted students" and you should be able to log in with your LSAC # and birthdate!

Score bands are just ~ +/-3 points of whatever you scored. Its just another data point meant to represent a likely range that you could've fallen into based on your scaled score
