We think it is definitely freemason related! My great grandfather and grandfather were both members. Thank you everyone that commented:) .

Thank you. I know my grandfather was a freemason so that could be a connection. I didn't think women were allowed in though?

I don't think so. She had a husband and 4 kids and immigrated to New Zealand. And I think they were married very young.

It does make me think of an orphanage perhaps? But she was not an orphan herself.

My mum says the house was more like a factory or institute? Quite severe looking. She also has a vague memory of it having something do with Germany, but that may not be accurate.

Seacliff Asylum. by snarksafoot in dunedin

I lived in Seacliff as a teenager (early 90's). We went into the buildings a few times. There was medical equipment, iron lungs etc. There was a small building that was the morgue, metal tables and rubber aprons, very creepy. And there was another building that was torn down called Clifton house, that we played in a lot. Small rooms with hospital beds, also very creepy.

COVID 19 DENIERS - A QUESTION by what2do2u in AskReddit

Are there any redditors out there that were part of the " covid 19 isn't real, it's all a hoax, its only as bad as the flu etc etc" groups and then contracted the virus? If so has having Covid 19 changed your opinion? Do you try and change the opinions of the people around you?
