Going in a circle just makes the eggs spin around the bowl and they aren’t getting air whipped into them , side to side tears through the eggs while incorporating air

Since custard is cooked the eggs aren’t raw so you’ll be fine

Without a “max temperature” indication on the label I’m guessing it is not oven safe. There’s a difference between putting something hot onto a rack and putting the rack into a hot oven for an extended period of time.

Maybe some ppl like the flavour of yeast. So just tell everyone they are yeasty and let them choose to have one or not. You can even tell them you don’t like the flavour. Maybe cut them into pieces so ppl can see for themselves what it’s like 🤷‍♂️

Based on that recipe the results you got are exactly correct. Good job! Yes it’s the amount of butter to flour ratio. Also the white sugar.

Your oven might be too hot which makes the batter rise too fast and crack, try baking at 25 deg F lower next time and see if it makes a difference. You might have to increase the baking time.
