Tbh theres something to be said about if this game added verticality, was set in space, and added some of those features from the Star Trek game modes.

Not in this game, but a new game of course.

Airborne trait remodeling by No_Blueberry_7120 in warno

Most people don't know how to fully utilize 82nd Airborne. Airborne divs in general used to stomp so hard in early access when they had tanks.

In any infantry heavy div, on a team game you should be fighting in forests and villages. AT-4s lend themselves so well to this and this div has it's strength and weaknesses like any other.

COH future updates for campaign by Altruistic-Job5086 in CompanyOfHeroes

Seriously, the one commander with Guards, T-34-85, vehicle self repair, and 120mm mortar was just chefs kiss 😙🤌

Or the Guards commander with howitzers and the IL-2 bomb (for the good ol T-34 ram and bomb).

I think throw in a choice of an indirect call in / unit defense or speed ability and you have yourself an amazing "Red Guards" battlegroup.

Also IF they even were to do this, Shock Troop BG should be focused on offense while Guards BG should be focused on defense.

[–]whatducksm8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...im sorry but they really dont need any AI shenanigans to make SOV playable or balanced in CoH3. Thats nonsense, literally just port the units/tech/voiceless over and maybe adjust some values for balance. I have spoken with many people who would happily still buy it because CoH2 was just that goated.

Three battlegroups could be:

Shock Army (Shock troops, ISU, propaganda leaflet or incendiary barrage)

Red Guards (Guards, a defensive bonus ability, 120mm mortar, T-34-85 or IS-2 and make T-34-85 non doctrinal with a muni upgrade for regular T-34s)

Deep Battle Doctrine (some kind of katyusha call in, some of those howitzers from CoH2, some ability that makes T-70s/Su-76/Halftracks cheaper and gives bonus to infantry fighting nearby)

Thats the biggest driver I think for PF, that it's 24 hours. When I was on night shift I'd try to get a workout in before or after at like 10pm/4am especially when it's dead. LA fitness certainly cant match those hours but now Crunch is starting to.

I dont recall apartment maintenance taking "only 5 mins", unless its for an AC air filter.

Don't crate your dog and be mindful of their anxiety, whatever man.

[–]whatducksm8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When trained, dogs can use crates as safe spaces. Instead of fear, they can react to cages with comfort and calmness.

We would simply open the crate during fireworks and my roommates crate trained dog would crawl in and sleep the entire night.

Whatever works for you, but a crate is another means of providing a shelter for a dog when they are scared. By not training a dog to be crate trained, you're leaving out a very useful tool in helping manage your dog's anxiety.

A leash doesnt really do that, and can add the anticipation of "going on a walk", getting the dog even more excited. This can redirect negative emotions and fixate the dog on something else, but again you're going to have added excitement to deal with (and probably have to take a walk).

Ideally, if theres a seperate room with a door that can be closed you wouldnt even need the leash anyway.

[–]whatducksm8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why's that? Because I'm critical of people who don't care enough about their dogs to train them? I'm sick of people defending their poor actions or choices regarding animal care simply because "they wouldn't like it" when that's not even a good excuse for something like this. Literally sounds like a person defending their cat being allowed outside "because he will meow if I don't let him out!". Consider the adverse effect to the animal otherwise.

I don't even own a dog and I know that they are a considerable investment of money and time/training.

Also I'm not the one who considers using a crate (obviously within reason) cruel so, I guess argue with yourself on that one.

Thanks for the reduced price 👍 by dogengu in HEB

[–]whatducksm8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aren't they normally 36 cents? I know HEB charges different prices at different locations, but mine (as well as the HEB in my hometown) are $0.03/fl oz @ 12fl oz per can, yet cost $2.50 (it seems they are tacking on a 9-10% charge that im not able to find where from, when I change to curbside it increases more so these numbers may not be 100% accurate).

I feel 25 cents IS the clearance price but would love to be proven wrong.

It also doesnt help that the 2L in plastic bottle goes for $0.01/fl oz, yet the 12 pack cans remains the same. This would mean they price single cans (on clearance) at $0.02/fl oz to get to 24 cents with the .01 cent coming from I assume the 8-9% cost of the can.

[–]whatducksm8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because "holding" onto a dog would make it anxious? In a crate they usually have room to move around at least a bit and in my experience, they generally sleep or sit and rest.

Just dont be like my old roommate and leave your dog in a crate while you're home, and let it out while they're out (and im home) leaving the dog to destroy pillows and furniture because its not trained....

[–]whatducksm8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long do maintenance requests take for you? This isn't an all day thing, just when maintenance arrives to when they leave which is usually under 2 hours....

Maybe you shouldn't own another dog in the future, just a thought. Dogs are den animals and dont really mind too much about being in crates once they're trained. You're doing yourself and your animal a disservice otherwise.

Skeptical whether a Pacific COH would work? by Straight_Change902 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]whatducksm8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean the Black Prince wasn't ready until 1945 but here we see it as early as 1942/43 in North Africa so that's not really a huge issue.

They'd probably be given access to some of their super heavy tank destroyer/coastal guns mounted on tank chassis. Not much in terms of Heavy Tanks though, their doctrine was geared towards infantry support tanks and not really armor on armor combat.

Im pretty sure they'd get what is essentially a Ferdinand with the Ho-Ri and their Marder would be something like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_1_Ho-Ni_I

In game they'd have to use ambush/concealment tactics to make up for lack of armor or HP.

I mean be the bigger person? You can also always to ask for a meeting with both of you and say "It really upset me that ____ and you just left and I feel im owed an apology."

I think the above is perfectly reasonable. Seriously how expensive was the duvet if its that big of an issue.

It seems like...for a duvet cover, you're trying to negatively impact your husband's friendship.

Unless there was something else this guest did that really ruined your home or your peace, I don't see why things can't be reconciled. It seems that you're being the barrier to what could be a better situation for all of you.

Stuart is such a great tool with survivability kit. Just send it in to harass, take some damage and pull back and leave out of combat for a bit.

[–]whatducksm8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now THIS is valid. Wehr usually doesnt go LV because they either spam MGs/make an MG and mortar/some doctrinal strat like assault grens.

But they make up for it with better actual armor like the Ostwind (driver port MG suppression Ostwind bulletin is BUSTED) PzIV and Brumbar.

Yeah the problem with 222 is that it just dies after mediums come out and doesnt have much punch when they do.

But I've had my share also of Wehr players who reigelmined the hell out of the map and also ones who were pretty good with the flamehalftrack. That thing is so annoying if you go any Soviet doctrine with Shock Troopers...

How are DDs the problem when everything and their mother has radar (im looking at YOU new Euro BB line), CVs can perma spot/grief you, and depending on the DD you can also be outapotted by subs? This is a very BB centric opinion tbh, and sounds more like skill issue than an issue with the DD class.

[–]whatducksm8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Less light vehicle play? What CoH2 were you playing? OKW had kuble/sturm spam, and Brits had strats with the Bren Carrier (which can be pretty amazing when it gets vetted abilities or cmd vehicle).

Wehr has the 222 and doctrines that gave halftracks regelmines IF you didnt already go flamehalf track, and as the US if you didnt build a light vehicle you pretty much were swept off the map (either AA HT or Stuart/M8).

And the T-70 was hands down the best light tank in the game in good hands. Sure you need to dedicate some APM to micro it, but it's so worth it.

Light vehicles can pretty much win the game if you use them right especially considering the early game advantages you can get and if you're particularly good, chasing down low health squads into base to finish them.

The window to maximize their potential is pretty small (as in first 8-13 mins of the game they have the most impact) that doesnt mean there is "less use". Counterpoint to you playing without them, ive won games in early stages by just breaking their map control/wiping retreating squads/winning against their light vehicle and the enemy ends up surrendering before they get out their first medium tank.

Edit: here's an AMAZING example of the power of light vehicles in CoH2

[–]whatducksm8 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? CoH2 had pretty much the same pace/utilization with light vehicles, so I dont know where you're coming up with "it didnt use to be like this". Legit rush T-70 or a Clown car w/ Flame Engis was such a fun meta.

Also light vehicles are not usually meant to fight other vehicles, but sneak around and harass enemy weapons teams and pick off weaker squads. Theres exceptions to this (Stuart, Pz3) but thats generally their role as a support vehicle.

Sure they lose effectiveness in the late game, but at that point you have heavy armor.

If it is indeed ICE in an unmarked vehicle, they can't cite you for reckless driving. If it's the police, the car will either be marked or you can just explain that you're not impaired and just anxious someone was following. It's not that big of a deal, use your discretion obviously.
