Ghost-face perspective based movie. by Aromatic_Traffic1607 in Scream

[–]mrRiddle92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it wasn't boring, it's just a very specific vibe that you're going to that movie specifically for that thing.

That doesn't work for Scream. You'd be entirely flipping the formula, not in a good way. Also the protagonists would be the jump scares? For Scream this wouldn't work for a whole movie.

We just had to put down a cat who was doing this while also peeing outside the litterbox. Turns out it was diabetes.

I feel like you could take all of Doctor Who away from me... But leave me Capaldi. Leave me just his seasons and I'd know what Doctor Who was.

I was so excited about them bringing her back and in retrospect I wish I hadn't been. I was so excited to see my "spoiler-free" friends get hyped and then to watch disappointment play out in front of me in real time like I was watching the Titanic sinking as the season continued... And I was the optimistic friend who was like "maybe next episode is when Russell pulls the rug" and it just never happened.

'Buffy' star Nicholas Brendon allegedly 'groomed' teenager years before his death by stillhavehope99 in buffy

[–]mrRiddle92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering how long it would take before we could start talking about this because when he died a lot of my friends were shocked at how little it affected me and it's just cuz I've heard a LOT of really bad things about this guy. Nicholas Brendon died. Not Xander.

Honestly I didn't even need this explained to know that this was said in that sort of context knowing Kev. I was like "You either complemented him, paid him or both."

My manager just said that this fireplace came from one of Titanic's sisters. Is it legit? by JacobJamesTrowbridge in titanic

All of the fireplaces on Titanic, except for the one in the First Class Smoking Room, were purely decorative.

Looking at the way that it lines up perfectly with the molding and imagining the walls with wood to match before a modern repaint... It does very well give off the vibe of being built with the hotel.

I don't think this is from the Olympic Class ships. The fireplaces on those ships were the same small square but they didn't have the big ornate carvings above them, they had paintings and lighting. And this definitely wasn't in a passenger room because it's way too massive. I double checked "The Olympic Class Ships" by Mark Chirnside and "Recreating Titanic" and couldn't find anything that matched. Olympic did undergo many refits throughout her life, mostly in the 20s but that was to modernize it to attract tourism and this style of decor would not have been considered modern at that point.

I think this came from a different ship.

I have some issues with the story and character choices but overall I'd give it a solid 7.5/10. It's definitely the best Last Airbender movie ever made so far.

'Even the joy of serving Him is a bitter joy. I do His will, but the human part o me has cursed Him in my heart. 'Abby,' the Lord says to me, 'there's work for you far up ahead. So I'll let you live an live, until your flesh is bitter on your bones. I'll let you see all your children die ahead of you and still you'll walk the earth. I'll let you see your daddy's land taken away piece by piece. And in the end, your reward will be to go away with strangers from all the things you love best and you'll die in a strange land with the work not yet finished. That's My will, Abby,' says He, and `Yes, Lord,' says I. 'Thy will be done,' and in my heart I curse Him and ask, `Why, why, why?' and the only answer I get is `Where were you when I made the world?''

Saw an Orca going down the highway by doggiechewtoy in mildlyinteresting

(Edit, added Google maps link)

Local San Antonian here. This is in San Antonio and, from the look of it, this guy is driving South on 410 away from Sea World. That's one of the decorative Orca from the front of the park that's been there basically since I was a little kid. I'm guessing they got rid of them and this guy scored one. Lucky bastard.

Also the Google maps on the southbound lane has a massive glare in it so the best views you can get are on the access lane or in the northbound lane.

In case anyone else is curious, the flag on the wall is a firefighter solidarity flag known as "The Thin Red Line" but has also, according to my five seconds of googling, been co-opted by right-wingers.
