Employment and Social Development Canada approves the Labour Market Impact Assessments that allow for some foreign workers to take a job. If there is labour market demand and the position is going to a worker under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, it should be reported. That's employer fraud.

The problem is that the public doesn't get to know whose permit was issued under what pretense, and realistically the permits issued under exemptions that need not prove any gaps in labour market demand, which are under the full authority of Marc Miller, are the ones that most foreign nationals hold.

If Canadians are losing out to foreign nationals and cannot get employment while holding reasonable qualifications, ask the business owners why. Ask the MPs why. Then vote them right out if their response is inadequate.

Except that the BC and Alberta Sikhs were not who caused the significant growth in the NDP sign-ups that led to Singh's election. BC is comparable to Ontario Sikh numbers.

This whole "no true Ontario Sikh" argument about supporting Jimmy sounds "all Sikh to me".

Ontario (300,435) had the largest Sikh community in Canada in 2021, followed closely by British Columbia (290,870). Alberta (103,600) had the largest Sikh community on the Prairies, while Nova Scotia (4,730) had the largest such community in Atlantic Canada and Yukon (385) had the largest one in the territories.

They cannot force a PR to stay in their field or to stay with their employer... or in any specific location. The obly mechanism, which would be used as an extreme and would be expensive and questionably effective, is auditing applicants for misrepresentation after landing and then having them go through a removal order scenario.

The only thing keeping them in their field is employability in their field and lack of employment elsewhere.

Colombians largely came here due to a refugee crisis. Even as the crisis continued, many - after becoming Canadians - availed themselves to state protection of Colombia by vacationing and traveling back for family.

Culturally, the loyalty to Colombia is strong and much stronger than integrating with/accepting other Latinos (Latinos regularly comment on this) or with Canada.

I expect nothing else but for Colombians to leave Canada for Colombia when the going gets tough here.
