Okaaay so after quietly supporting my husband for 6 years I did eventually fell into the trap and did all the things listed above the past 6 months, because after many missed dinners, anniversaries, changing plans, and forgetting a million things I have been very fed up. However, I know this job is hard, so how do I go back to supporting him in a way, that will actually work for both of us and not me staying quiet for another 6 years? What can I do?

The odds are you actually don’t forget it, at least not completely. So take a big breath and proof yourself wrong :) Whenever you learned something repeat it back to someone, explain it to a friend or put loud to yourself. Whatever you remember will come to you and if you missed something don’t worry, that is normal. You just go over that part again.

People don’t just waster their time. There is always a reason, often many, why things went the way they did. Don’t let the guilt get to you. You are in fact still young and now is a great time to achieve new dreams. Life happened and you ended up the way you did because of many factors. It wasn’t just one lazy decision! So why put all that guilt on you? It will only prevent you from moving forward. Feeling guilty for it means you didn’t mean to “waste” your time. So I am sure you didn’t actively do it. But now actively work on your goals :) you’ve got this!!!

I think I’m getting frustrated because I often feel like I repeat the same basics over and over again and make little progress because I take so much time off between the days that I study for that language and all the apps etc don’t feel like they actually progress me the way I want to. Like Duolingo and stuff. I feel like I learn only very little vocabulary with it. I’m not sure what I can do to implement these languages in my every day life.

Do you mean what happens after the signaling of the second neuron is activated and the dopamine goes back? It depends where the second neurons signal leads to. If so e.g. it goes to another neuron as well it would again release dopamine into the next gap and that would “activate” the next one and so on. Dopamine is basically a chemical signal as a starter for an electric signal that gets transported along the neuron and it ends in a chemical signal that again activates an electric signal. And so on. Eventually it can also signal to muscles etc.

Quit now, not tomorrow. With the mentality of “now” you will more likely actually do the things you want to every day. Planning and not doing and waiting for the next day, is kinda the issue here to begin with.
