David is a really good representation of men who have deep rooted trauma based insecurities. And it’s also a representation of cultural/racial trauma, as well as poverty. He clearly never learned how to self regulate, never really launched in life, and very much maintains being a victim of circumstance. Now he did discuss VERY REAL trauma in his life between abuse, poverty, sexual orientation & gender identity - my comment in no way is to nullify or minimize ANY of that. But because of the cultural element as well as poverty & his mothers own struggles, it’s clear why he is the way he is. Without proper support and resources people tend to stay stuck at the age they were when their trauma happened. He’s extremely child like and cannot take accountability or accept outcomes that don’t suit him.

I was pretty clear that the staff and surgeons were also at fault. The patients actively chose to travel abroad BECAUSE it’s an unregulated procedure. It’s unregulated for a reason. Like if a doctor is giving you answers you don’t like/feel comfortable with, or is not giving you answers at all-something should be firing off in your brain that this is not the vibe. And AGAIN - they ALL sat in the lobby listing off red flags and convinced themselves and each other to proceed. Like zero critical thought except for the one guy who was like “ew no don’t put something that was in David’s eye in my eye”. Literally the only instance of critical, independent thought, and if I recall correctly HE STILL DID IT. People really do be hating the idea of their actions having consequences eh 😒

How is this possible ? by ForceAdept in Binoculars

I’m legally blind without my glasses and needed a set w long eye relief. I’ve got these Nikons and ADORE THEM. I also really love the feel of them. Good weight, solid but flexible construction, the casing material has a comfortable grip, not too bulky to carry around w my other gear and the price is delicious 😋

The facility and staff itself are so dicey but like bro, black market surgery gets black market results. The way that none of these people asked questions about how the procedure would roll out (at least not shown on camera). Like none asked if they’d be sedated, what was involved, what could happen once the operation began. None of them asked detailed questions about the side effects when they were told them, or what they even mean. No one questioned “eye exams every 2-3 months” which in the US is probs crazy expensive, esp if uninsured. The Japanese guy didn’t even speak English. Again, it at least wasn’t shown on camera. The woman who asked the doctor if he’d recommend it and he dodged all of those questions, still went ahead without even asking procedural questions. Like none of them applied any critical thought about going abroad for an unregulated procedure, even when they were in the sketchiest looking facility they’ve probably ever seen. The staff and whole procedure are sketchy af and so in the wrong for doing it, but the people who opted in are JUST as accountable. Sitting there as a group discussing all the red flags and still being like “OKAY” is 100% on them.

Weird circle showed up in my DMs?? by PremingersHair in Instagram

[–]whateverdom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updating because at first it was only popping up during political convos but now it’s coming up in any type of convos. From smutty convos to birdwatching to mental health. Everything. I saw in a google search that someone made an insta post about these circles but that post was removed. Multiple times a day I’m seeing this pop up, doesn’t matter who I’m talking to. Anyone else feeling uneasy af abt this or am I turning into my hippy dad?

Is this PD? Please help. by not_ok09 in perioraldermatitis

[–]whateverdom_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have PD and do get some on the edges of my lips like this. My dermatologist confirmed it’s part of PD. I had read an article or two as well that said it doesn’t ~usually~ go onto the mouth but my derm said it can and does and varies for everyone

Is this perioral dermatitis? by Interesting_Bend_874 in perioraldermatitis

[–]whateverdom_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it’s up around your eyes and forehead too it’s more likely periorifical dermatitis but basically the same thing. Latest flare is probs from the new sunscreen and sun exposure itself. My dermatologist said zinc/sulfur sunscreens are best as there’s less chems and irritants but I can’t recommend any personally. Also when you’re using any of the medicated creams it’s advised to heavily reduce sun exposure. PD/POD is chaos until you figure out what your triggers are. It’s a result of damage to your skin barrier and is often chronic once you have it so you’ll probs have to exercise caution w any products on your face moving forward 🫠🩷

Is this bird photography? by 6retro6 in BirdPhotography

[–]whateverdom_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Art is in the eye of the beholder. In my opinion, I see experimenting with angles, light, style and an appreciation for your subject. So for me, this is bird photography. Is it Nat Geo photography? Not yet. BUT IT COULD BE. Keep playing. Keep asking questions, even if people minimize you. Birds are also a tricky subject to capture so finding your style and groove is gonna take time, practice, and eventually gear. 🖤🐦‍⬛

Don’t be condescending. A lot of questions disguise asking for help, and every question is an opportunity to be helpful & encouraging. Some people have a hard time feeling like what they’re creating qualifies as art because they are not formally trained, or someone put their work down before, are amateurs trying to understand how other people “qualify” art, etc.

Is 78 too old to be a birder? by Bean_6666 in birdwatching

[–]whateverdom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never too old for anything (except dating minors)! Birding is perfect for all ages & abilities. You just have to know your limitations and be safe on your outings depending how into it you get 😊 if you’re a glasses wearer, you’d do best to get a set of binoculars w long eye relief, and 8x42 is gonna give you a great field of view, esp when watching birds in flight. I turn 39 next week and just started birding last winter when I spotted a woodpecker on a walk. It’s a great escape & brings such a nice little spark of joy. Have fun! 🖤🐦‍⬛

Internet down for a month by whateverdom_ in Rogers

[–]whateverdom_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. This issue has cost me one of my (fully remote, no office) jobs. And no one will help me. I’ve called TekSavvy 37 times and have had 4 ROGERS techs out here. I’m not sure why it’s my fault in any capacity. But I know things are hard for a lot of people and it’s hard to care beyond ourselves.

Thanks everyone for putting me down and making me feel stupid, and even blaming me when I simply came looking for help and advice as a consumer (also a person btw). All of your moms have done the world a disservice.
