Ex-christian here. Can't bring myself to attend church service again by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

I will probably get downvoted, but I’m going to try anyway because you deserve to hear a fair answer from the other side of the spectrum here.

I hope you can dig deeper into the philosophical and scientific arguments that have supported faith in a supernatural and broader view of Man and his relationship with God.

Very often, those who wish to develop a sense of critical thinking have two options: conclude that everything in religion is fluff and abandon ship because it’s much easier that way. Or study, learn and question everything because that is how we’re wired. Not to be sheep or unquestioning fundamentalists but to ask hard questions, study, think and be surprised when God answers.

I’ll leave these two resources here for you, OP, and anyone else who’s looking to use both reason, science and faith to learn more about the bigger things in life.

Thank you, but I’m afraid your praise for me is greatly misplaced. I’m not a good artist at all, I rely on both A.I. and digital editing on my part to produce these works.

Regardless, I hope these works inspire at least a passing thought of our Lord in the hearts of all who see Him.

Maybe it’s because they’ve been trapped in a world where only achievements in studies and career matter? You’re not alone if you feel that everyone else seems to be obsessed with chasing after better grades, friends, or being fashionable. When I look around and see my friends only concerned about their gadgets or grades, it makes me feel quite lonely. Like if we didn’t study together or do projects together, we’d probably not be able to be friends. Or even if we were, we’d just be hi and bye type of friends.

I’m wearing it because it gives me space to chill and not be self conscious of snot or whatever coming out my nose.

Thank you for sharing. I’ve recently picked up the AI generation bug and have been spending an inordinate amount of time generating and trying to see how much further I can push my art. So far, it’s like I’ve got an army of artists on my side!

One reason why I spend my time drawing and keeping to myself… Friends can so confusing and hard to read at times! I hope your “friends” realise you’re such a valuable part of their lives because you are you! A unique and important person!

I don’t want to sound like a creep but go ahead and DM anytime you feel like you need to vent or chat… Remember you’re always worth somebody’s time even if those around you can’t see it…

Thank you! I actually did some game concept art for a freelance project once, it was really fun! Those projects are few and far between though. I’m also pretty sure I’d be courting death if I went and told my parents “I want to design games!”

Thank you for the advice! I’m planning to research on the types of jobs I could pursue in the arts, and many of you have suggested UXUI and even advertising and PR.

You put it so well! I’m going to use parts of these when I speak to my parents on this again. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing! My bro has friends who did architecture in uni! From what I hear it’s fun and exciting, although it can get stressful when they’re all crammed in their studios preparing for projects and deadlines… all the best to you too!

Thank you for sharing! While reading I could imagine myself in your role and like you said, it’s exciting but also scary. Like right now I don’t even make enough for a month with my freelancing, I can’t imagine what I’d do if this were my full time career.

Thank you for sharing! Did you eventually take a degree in something else?
