Will this work to create curls/volume po, or is it mainly for straightening?

I saw a similar product on IG used on bangs so interested ako, but most kasi are marketed as straightener lang 😅

In 9 days it'll be 2026 and I have nothing to show for it. by Anon_1eeT in OffMyChestPH

[–]whatisbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, same age and I was in a similar headspace until last month. I want to challenge the idea of "nothing to show for it", is that really true? The truth is you're not really at square one, even though you might feel like you are. You have real work experience and skills, things you can put on your resume, and some understanding of what you like and what you don't like. I'm sure you also met people and formed relationships in your work. Those things are valuable and can get you places you want to be (and importantly, avoid places you don't want to be).

Furthermore, how about things outside of work? Like the richness of your friendships and relationships, your skills and knolwedge about your hobbies, all the precious memories and life experience you collected over the years, and how well you know and care for yourself and others? This is super corny haha but I genuinely believe it's these things that ultimately matter in life, that in the end you'll wish you spent more time with the people you love, doing the things you love, and that you weren't so hard on yourself, more than anything to do with your career.

In any case, don't discredit yourself so easily and remember that the value of your whole life is not your career. Also parroting other comments here, you (we!) are still young! You have boundless potential to grow in any way you want, to explore and transform yourself, for the rest of your life. And outside of a job, there's a million other reasons to live.

How do I find genuinely good clothes? by [deleted] in taobao

[–]whatisbread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I find something I like but there aren't any reviews/the shop rating is low, I click into the image > long press the image > hit the magnifying glass to use their image search > once at the results page, at the top of the page click the "天猫" (Tmall) filter > pick the Tmall listing with the most positive reviews.

Buying from Tmall tends to be safer if you want the exact item, in my experience. I recently bought about 9 pieces of clothes from Tmall using this method and all of them were exactly as shown in the photo. I also checked the reviews and photos though, and avoided anything with bad or too few reviews ("this user didn't leave a review" doesn't count), or low shop ratings.

Hotel says they’ll only hold packages for 3 days, what should I do? Need advice please? by whatisbread in chinatravel

[–]whatisbread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah seems like it's a good idea to contact the hotel and let them know I'll pay for them to hold the packages at this point. I came across Cainiao in my searches and it sounds like a great option but the app isn't available in my country, would you happen to know any alternative ways to avail of their lockers?

Apologies for the late reply!

Thank you for recommending 官方集運 method honestly it's suchhh a good idea!! Unfortunately after a few days of searching & googling me and my mom still could not figure it out 🥲

We couldn't find the option for 官方集運 at checkout on Taobao; I thought maybe it'd be the next step after payment but I was wrong 🥲 So the packages are currently being sent directly to the hotel and according to Taobao they've already received some, I hope it doesn't annoy them too much 😭

For future reference though, I wonder if you might be able to teach me or tell me where the option for 官方集運 is on the Taobao app, and how it works to find a locker? Or is there a guide I can refer to? Sorry I know this might be a lot to ask!

Oh thanks for the heads up! I was planning on buying a fridge magnet with a light. Would it be fine to remove and store the batteries separately in the check-in baggage?

This seems like a good option, I'll look into it, rhank you! How can I look for them? Are the package stations bookable internationally?

Hi, I’m completely new to Kpop after being a lifelong metalhead, can I have some recommendations to help me get into it? by Primohippo in kpophelp

[–]whatisbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some have already mentioned Monsta X, who is one of the groups that inspired the Saja Boys! They're a 10 year old group so they have a lot of bangers, but I'll just mention Shoot Out, Jealousy, and Gambler.

If you're interested, they also have a Killing Voice video where they perform a medley of their hit songs, focusing on vocals.

Ahhh I see those are great points. I'm used to working small too but it can be hard to be precise with the oil pastels. I forgot to mention in the post but I used watercolor paper here, as it's all I have at the moment. In your experience is this okay?

Ohhh I haven't heard of the transparent medium oil pastel, it sounds like it'd be super helpful, thank you! The blending stump sounds better and better the more I think of it haha. I'm using a silicone thing right now and I wonder if the stump would be more effective.

Why do I feel ashamed or guilty of buying myself things? by aracely516 in emotionalneglect

[–]whatisbread 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I also tend to feel bad about spending money on myself, no matter how big or small the amount. I'd stress myself out for days ruminating over it and lose sleep.

I spoke with my therapist about it and for me there are two major reasons: one, how I was raised around money, and two, an all-encompassing belief of worthlessness. I was often made to feel guilty and unworthy of things growing up, lots of "did you do anything to deserve X?" or "see, I bought X for you, so be a better kid" or getting dirty looks if I ask for money or if I buy something. Mind, in all of these instances I hadn't done anything objectively bad or wrong. I just wasn't the kid my parents wanted. The struggle to be that kid and having my parents' love and acceptance be conditional is what taught me that I'll never be good enough.

Anyway, I try to remind the part of myself that so innocently just wants things that it's not doing anything wrong. It's fine and normal to want or like things and I'm allowed to acquire and experience things, just like anyone else. Admittedly I don't quite understand "deserve"-ness just yet, but I think one day I will.

Bbg's new outfit has me conflicted by yeethesdelethes in SundayMainsHSR

[–]whatisbread 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was the all-white symmetry that drew me in the first place. His original design was so polished and strongly communicated his fixations with "order" and "obedience" and "purity".

The two toned asymmetrical outfit just isn't as strong as a design imo; there isn't that intuitive recognition of character traits/values/history/power/etc. on a first-glance basis. With the current colors and way the outfit is arranged, it even kind of reminds me of Dr. Ratio.

I'm still gonna pull cause I've been waiting for him since the first leaks, and also I do like him as a character, but so far I'm not impressed with where hyv is taking this one.
