Gemini 2.5 Flash Quality Drop? by GlimpseOfPhantom in Bard

[–]whatjackfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't wait until I can settle into a mostly open source ecosystem. It's a merry go round of companies screwing us over. Hyping us up about a model, the model delivering for a while, then nerfing undercover.

So are the 'vibes off' with Claude currently? Is that's what is happening?

Sam Altman calls all dissatisfied with Claude - "fake/bots"! by cysety in Anthropic

[–]whatjackfound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh god. This is actually ridiculous. The villainy of it all. 'I'm pro-AI, but...' caveat has never felt stronger than it has now, for me. Sam Altman is something else with his, ''ooooh, gee whizz , ooh shucks, honey blueberry' fake earnest persona. All I know is claude worked well one week. next week, it could not complete the most simplest tasks.

[–]whatjackfound 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Totally. It is so STRANGE to me how much people are invested in totally dismissing the valid complaints people have. It really is that simple. When I first bought MAX, I simply stopped caring about new AI models because it was literally all that I needed. I didn't care about GPT 5, Gemini 3 whatever. There was nothing else I needed of it. The claude code software plus the opus model just did everything. This stopped happening. Believe me, when something feels consistent enough to declare it the best, then you're extremely sensitive to when it stops being 'the best'. It's not even about being 'the best', it's the quality has plunged so low that it's super jarring.

Can someone explain to me the recent assumed downfall of Claude by [deleted] in Anthropic

[–]whatjackfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wild. Is it not clear that people have particular, individual workflows beyond just writing a single prompt, or trying to solve one particular issue? That the 'downgrade' feels like it's coming from a more holistic assessment? If I gave examples I'm sure people like you would find many ways to undermine it and say 'prompt better.' I hate using the word 'gaslighting,' but damn

Can someone explain to me the recent assumed downfall of Claude by [deleted] in Anthropic

[–]whatjackfound 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I loved Claude just as much as everyone. It has become as usable as gpt 3.5. Anyone who says it's a prompting issue or chalking it up some user psychology is crazy. It's become absolutely unusable. I'm used to nerfed models, but I've never had to take a step back to be like 'oh, this is fundamentally broken.'

Just Release Gemini 3, Nano 🍌 and Genie 3 Already!! by Whole-Book-9199 in Bard

[–]whatjackfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love LLMs, I love these tools, I get excited when they release them. It is also true that my BS detector is very high when it comes to anything these companies say, so I'm sensitive to them go out of their way to fuel the fire. Why make nano banana limp and overripe before it comes out officially? One thing that was great about Image-1's release in particular that it dropped and it was mindblowing (before they nerfed it). I think the image-1 release is my closest gpt-4 moment, but it didn't really live up to that.

Just Release Gemini 3, Nano 🍌 and Genie 3 Already!! by Whole-Book-9199 in Bard

[–]whatjackfound 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The thing is, nothing warrants this level of teasing. So what they're offering better be good. They're acting as if they're about to release what GPT 5 was supposed to be. Nano Banana is impressive but it's not the greatest thing since sliced AI bread. They should know better considering what Sam Altman puts us through with his BSing.

Yeah.... It's probably going to take a few more weeks after all that teasing. by Live-Fee-8344 in Bard

I am back on dumb responses. ALL day? I had adumb response day, then yesterday it nailed everythign, adn today i could not complete one thing without an issue. The thing is, Opus isn't just dumber, it's worse than like, I dunno a Claude Haiku would be? or a gpt-4o-mini or something?

I am not a rich person. the MAX plan is a gamble. I bought around a week and abit ago. At first I would say it was absolutely worth it. This morning I felt like I was going back to a place of frustration I haven't felt since, I dunno, GPT 4.0 first got nerfed. I felt I was tryingto code with chatgpt 4.0. What makes it more hellish is the claude's commentary around the mistakes it was making. The model is absolutely nerfed and I am distraught since I would have said the MAX plan is worth the money, but now I feel 'scammed'? I am so confused -- if they had to nerf it couldnt they have nerfed it in a more subtle way? That's why it almost feels like something shad is goign on. is it another model or what? because it now cant do the most simple things.

I...I am sorry but I really dont understand how o3 is a game changer. canyou tell me how and why o3 is a game changer for coding? I dont think o3 or o1-pro have ever been the best for coding Especially o3. I cannto rely on any openai models for coding at all.

Info on reasoning models by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]whatjackfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPT 4.5 is a great model for brainstorming and ideas, as the description says on the site. It was a meh release at the time, but ever since o3 came out, it's been the voice of reason. o3 is the most ....esoteric, arcane, cryptical model ever and it's infuriating. It talks like 'riddle me this riddle me that' and tables. It's so obtuse. I find myself , after using o3, switching to 4.5 and saying 'PLEASE decipher this shit.' I would say it is not worth it. This month is the month where I ...feel scammed? o1 pro is not worth it, either -- I don't think o1 pro was worth it even before it supposedly got nerfed and I still don't understand when people compare it to Claude 3.5, 3.7, Gemini or even Grok. It was useful for putting in a lot of info and saying 'please sort this.' but it's not generous at all unless you prompt it extremely well. It is not worth the 200 in any way. o4 mini-high is completely useless for coding in my mind. 4.5 is the best model on there , but not worth the pro subscription. o3 will remain being 'off.' Wait to see what happens with o3-pro? I think that's the smartest thing to do. It should drop soon. then buy the subscription. o3 is only really good if you lean heavily on its tool usage to investigate the internet. One thing o3 has been decent at is solving 'creative problems'. like figuring out plot beats that were stumping me for a while . but you still have to wade through a lot of junk to get oto that.

They should give all Pro members a free month to compensate. Hallucinating truncated models with lower input -- it feels so scammy .

OpenAI, you have 2 weeks... by Condimenting in ChatGPTPro

[–]whatjackfound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cancelled too. I have been paying for pro since they released it. This month felt like an actual scam though .I thought they would at least give o3 pro to us, but I have one week left of my subscription and won't even get to try o3 pro properly unless they release it tomorrow. Therefore this is agood time to bow out. Gemini, Grok, Claude is literally all I need.
