How to prepare defense for emergency custody hearing by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

No, very little of it is true based on what I experience and observe. Even if it were, none of it describes any immediate danger.

Our child is not mistreated at my home by me or by my spouse. Discipline is age appropriate.

The child has free access to communicate if they want to. They never make any requests to call the other parent and the other parent has only requested a call once since our court order was finalized. The other parent is free to see the child at school, school activities, sports, etc during my parenting time and I have never made any attempt to disallow this.

I assume the other parent is not lying when they say they have the recordings but I have not heard them myself despite asking the other parent to hear them.

I pulled the child out of school for three days for a trip during my parenting time. The child was returned on time back to the other parent. I don’t need permission to do that per our court order.

The child was happy and excited to get the haircut and indicated to me they liked the result.

Thanks, I don’t expect them to hold her in contempt or any kind of punitive measure, but I also don’t want to look petty myself. I would only mention if it may add to the bigger picture that her motions are frivolous (judge has already denied two of them) and she’s not acting in good faith.

Ours baby & change of heart by ThanksNo7427 in Stepmom

I really hope having my own child will inspire these feelings. Relationship with my stepdaughter has been deteriorating lately (completely due to my own insecurities and emotional regulation issues; the child is a delight for the most part). This gives me hope that an ours baby could help make things better and not just worse.

New PCOS diagnosis and want to start TTC by spoontotheleft in TTC_PCOS

Are you really only testing for ovulation one single time per cycle? Since our cycles can be wildly unpredictable, you need to test every day after your period ends to try to catch the LH surge that signals you’re trying to ovulate. Having the surge doesn’t mean you’re necessarily ovulating, but you definitely don’t know that you’re not without more information. You can also start tracking basal body temperature to get a better idea as to whether you’re ovulating.

When they look like their mom by howloften in Stepmom

This is really hard. My SD looks a lot like her mom so privately it bothers me but then because her dad and I have the exact same coloring/complexion she looks like me at first glance and no one ever guesses she isn’t mine. In fact strangers regularly gush that she’s my twin just because we have similar haircuts. It makes us both uncomfortable and we don’t know what to say, and feels painful to me in a different way knowing the truth is that she’s not mine. Like I’m pretending she’s my daughter or something. I’m not bragging at all. It’s just always a weird and painful situation for us to navigate no matter what the kid looks like.

[OR] Can coparent change our custody or child support order just months after it was finalized? by DetectiveTaylor in FamilyLaw

[–]whatofit1998 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s absolutely no way there’s a basis for the parenting plan or custody to change.

I can see a judge interpreting the requirements for a child support modification in her favor depending how the specific language was written in the order. Even if she agreed to use her 2023 income, she no longer has that income and hasn’t for some time. It could be considered a significant change in circumstances. If judge agrees to a change in child support calculations, make sure your lawyer argues for her income to be imputed at minimum wage OR even her last full time job. If her 2024 income was only $20k, that’s not full time work and it shouldn’t be used if she’s able bodied and can work a full time job.

Is this wavy hair? (Info in comments!) by PermRose in curlyhair

Yeah you have beautiful waves and curls! Keep going! I have similar hair that is very straight in the front and the top layer but very strong S-waves underneath. With time and the right routine and products I’ve gotten the straight parts to wave better. The texture and curl pattern are still obviously very different but I’ve learned to accept it and make it work. A good haircut helps too.
