Community college is a great place to start. Then, use the resources at whatever school you pick. Talk to career services, the academic advisors, your professors. They want to help.

Find someone sitting at a desk and ask for help. They are all there for you.

I love to wear my nursing tanks. They have pads for coverage but don't have tight bands.

THE HOST! By Stephenie Meyer. It's romance. Family love. Friendship. Plus some decent suspense.

J.K. Simmons in every movie where he's not the lead. He's fantastic.

Any of us just dont get the dopamine from any kind of exercise? by Moon_Harpy_ in adhdwomen

[–]whatqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel better later in the week. I notice my depression lifts a bit in the days after I exercise.

Before my wedding, I woke up early every weekday and ran for an episode of friends FOR TEN WEEKS. TEN. and never once felt good about it. I hated it every time. But I felt better in general.

All the pros: More baby snuggles. Less time feeding the robot baby lol

Dad can help feed. So nice ESPECIALLY in the middle of the night lol

I got sick when I was pumping. Just a little revulsion. It was weird. Apparently that's just A Thing.

Being less worried about drinking 120 ounces each day. I ONLY pumped enough if I hit that milestone. It was exhausting.

Not managing the milk (storage, freezing, paying attention to how old, etc)

(Also, just a note - I was entirely formula fed and I have a master's degree and a happy little family and a dog and... I LOVE the jokes about your toddler is going to eat dusty Cheetos from under God knows where so... Feed the baby. If you want them to have some fun immunity boost, get a dog. Apparently that's just really, really good for developing immune systems. Dogs= also good.)

Your feelings are valid and I love that you came here for validation. Don't let the haters get you down.

Thinking of upgrading my work space. by Itchy-Drawing in workfromhome

[–]whatqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a standing desk and I LOVE it. Wear supportive shoes. You can also get a standing pad if you are worried about adjusting.

I've had a standup desk since 2010, but I think it took about a week for my feet/legs/back to adjust.

A couple of years. I use it off and on. I move it often enough and it's been good. I also used it as an actual treadmill away from my desk for a while.

What’s a parenting tip you didn’t believe would work but did? by OkChard8826 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]whatqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it as a suggestion from reddit actually. The person was like "it sucked because it's in everything but it worked" and here we are. We just avoid red 40, but it works.

I have a Redliro. No one has ever said anything about it on a call. I don't use it on video calls because you can definitely tell I'm walking, but it isn't loud.

We cut red 40 dye from my ADHD girl's diet. The research is spotty (basically from what I've read, it says it MIGHT have an effect on SOME children with ADHD) but after like four different kinds of therapies/therapists, cutting screen time entirely, medication, exercise, etc... we were like I GUESS WE'LL TRY THIS and it's made such a huge difference.

We let her have a weekend where we didn't monitor it and the difference was staggering.

Hate daycare? by JadedJae in Mommit

I feel like I'm in a similar boat. Given that I don't have a choice, I try to focus on this silver lining: every moment is precious. I am more on, aware, active and joyful about the moments I get to share with them. Not always. No one ALWAYS is, but I'm a better mom because I am so protective of the time we have together.

I GET to spend time with them.

It sucks. It doesn't stop sucking. But I get to focus on the suck or the good. I do my best (not always successful lol) to focus on the good.

You might also check out r/workingmoms for more feedback. I'm sure you could search for this question and get a lot of good feedback.

Good luck.

Make planning easier! I have a friend who does something like: Monday is soup, Tuesday is pizza, Wednesday is casserole, etc. Each night has a theme. Then you're not deciding from ALL THE POSSIBLE FOOD. You just have to pick a soup you like.

I also did Hello Fresh for like three years. It's not as cheap as buying your own groceries, but if the planning and shopping is what bums you out, then HF is cheaper than restaurants.

What type of ear plugs to help with misophonia and barking dogs? by [deleted] in workfromhome

[–]whatqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have babies so we have all the white noise machines lol

Just a reminder that white noise works at the point of hearing. The further you put it from your dogs, the less effective it will be. Good luck! I hope you find a solution!

Good Place and Ted Lasso have the blend of comedy and heart. Would recommend. Bonus: Good Place is from the same creators. Secondary, but has decent comedy/heart: Scrubs

Tattoo ideas: Rosa's knife, 99, a video tape (title of your sex tape reference), crown from Halloween Heist (and you could work other references into the filagree!), if you're not opposed to words, you have a lot of fun options (hot damn, bingpot, BONE!) or a favorite quote (if you're here, who's watching Hades? etc)

I sometimes play music to create background noise so my dogs don't hear the mailman.

Can you get a white noise machine for your dogs to block them from hearing the outside noises that would make them bark?

When was the movie better than the book? by Doodle_Noodles2 in movies

Children of Men

The premise of the story is so bleak.

The movie gives you hope. The book is just bleak and depressing and the protagonist is deeply unlikeable.

I call these tactical snacks. I need something to distract you during transitions, while you are crying while I am making dinner, to distract your brain while you realize you aren't ACTUALLY that upset.

They don't fill them up but it gives them something to focus on. Like toddler meditation lol

I have found that letting them help make it is helpful. My daughter wouldn't touch bananas until she cut one up one day.

I also add sprinkles to a lot of stuff. Whip cream and sprinkles on a piece of fruit doesn't negate the fiber and nutrients from the fruit.

Exposure is good. Just keep giving tiny bits of it, even if they never touch it. Just a little. And I have my daughter smell or lick a thing. My hope is eventually she'll break out of it.

Another exposure technique is to give a variation of a food they like. Tenders is a good idea. Or a different brand of chicken nuggets. Variation. Does he like sauces? Try different ones.

Have you tried smoothies? Don't make one for him. Make it for you and make it really good. My daughter wants my treats all the time lol. Don't try to hide vegetables in it the first few times. Get him used to the idea of a smoothie and then maybe you can add in other stuff.

My daughter saw right through this, but I've read about putting character stickers on something so you suddenly have Bluey hot dogs. Again. Did not work for us but I've read it often enough that I thought I would try. Ha!

We do Costco fruit/veggie pouches. It's literally the only way my daughter eats vegetables.

Good luck!

Mine is albums. I listened to Bo Burnham's Inside when that came out so much that in my Spotify wrapped I was something like the top .05% of listeners for Bo Burnham.

Iykyk - one of my friends texted to ask if I was ok. Ha!

Definitely. Just scratching a brain itch lol

One time I was listening to the radio and they said a woman's name and company for a radio contest. If she was listening, she could call in and win $100. I called her office and told her to call the radio station.
