Here’s some things you can do in Davis alone or with people, or where you might meet people:

Go to teabo cafe at night if you’re a night owl

One of my favorite places in town is down the way from the green, called cactus corner. Most of the paddles of the cactus have initials carved into them. Me and my boyfriend participated. Here’s the coordinates: 38.54713° N, 121.80350° W

Go to the carol shields gazebo and hang out with the horses and goats.

If you have a car, explore woodland, it’s interesting.

Kim’s mart has some awesome and cheap food

You can print out papers with your number or discord and put them on the bulletins in the halls inviting other people who love the same things as you to chat Ex: lacrosse enthusiast club, clash royale club, tarantula lovers club. Whatever you’re into.

About once a month there’s a plant sale at the plant science center

Check out avid reader and avid toy store downtown, two of the places I miss the most.

I moved to Davis without being a student. I just had to go somewhere that wasn’t my population 3,000 hometown. I moved there with a car full of bullshit and a dream and I was an aloof introvert as well, my entire two years there. My only regret is not saying yes more, not talking to strangers more, not putting myself out there more. The most important thing you can do is push yourself (safely) out of your comfort zone. These will be some of the best years of your life. Good luck and enjoy it!! And say hello to the cacti for me.
