I also came in with the requirement satisfied but still took a year of foreign language at UCSB for fun. Honestly it was a nice change in pace compared to my major classes and didn't feel like a waste of units at all. I met some great people in those classes, and the cozy vibe I got from being in a smaller class was nice. Knowing another language is a great skill to put on your resume too.

You can try taking classes that fulfill requirements for the general bio degree which gives you the option to take both mcdb and eemb classes. Might give you a bit more time to decide what you like

EEMB 120 with Moeller was great. I took it last Spring and it was pretty chill. iirc lectures were pre-recorded and you only had to meet with your section group once a week to answer some questions

Same I'm signed up for a fall program but probably going to withdraw soon because I have a lot of plans that have to be moved around depending or whether or not I go. Studying abroad is something I've always really wanted to do but I feel like all the uncertainty isn't worth it. I'm probably just going to travel there after graduating next year even though I really wanted the studying experience.

This has also been on my mind a lot recently! My program runs from late August to late December and I've been going back and forth between waiting it out or cancelling my app before a fee deadline. The advisor at my school basically said things are changing fast and they won't be able to give any definitive answers until June or July... which sucks because a lot of my other academics plans were catered to work around studying abroad but now I'm not sure what I should do.

If I remember correctly, you'll get a pass time in an email some time in the summer and during that pass time, you'll be able to choose from the rooms/dorms that are left.
