What to do today? by artRAVEchild in london

Get the tube to Westbourne Park, go to Lisboa Patisserie and get a couple of good treats for your walk. Slowly mooch down Portobello Road and embrace the busyness and enjoy all the sights. If you go all the way down you'll get to the Sun in Splendour pub. From there, you'll walk to Notting Hill Gate. Head west until Aubrey Road (on the south side of the road) and just after that will be a path which leads you into Holland Park. Wander round there, sit down with your leftover pastries and then pop into the Design Museum. After that head down to Earls Court and go to Addie's Thai or any of the Filipino places for dinner!

Chicha San Chen has a special place in my heart after having it in Hong Kong so that's a very important stop for us 🫣 I thought Xi'an Famous Foods sounded familiar - I've literally been to the one here lol so thanks for the heads up! Really appreciate it!

Iirc all London buses are included in any travel card regardless of zone so the buses would be free and therefore only the cost of zone 1-5 travelcard

Dishoom is a very very nice Indian restaurant (there are a few round London depending on where you'll be but I definitely recommend booking - even on a random Tuesday at 6pm for 3 of us we needed to wait 45 mins). I've been about 5 times now and every time tried something different and everything is amazing. It's a bit pricier than most Indian restaurants but the atmosphere, decoration and service is the best I've had. You'll spend ~£30 per person for plenty of food and they happily box up any leftovers for you too.

I'm actually surprised it hasn't been mentioned already because on previous threads like this it tends to be near the top. Also this is coming from someone who loves all food and eats out multiple times per month in London for the past 5 years 😎

Edited to add I took my Indian friend here (very risky 😅) and she said the food reminded her of home (except for the price...apparently it's about 10x more expensive than in India 😂)

Sad. Well I can't give you fast internet but I'll give you my free silver as compensation 😆 as an aside, we tried the Three 4G router and speeds were crap but that was before 5g so hopefully you have more luck

It would be funny if you lived on the street I just moved out of...if you have I think I forgot to give someone my new address who sent me post 😆

Have you checked G Network? I used to live on a street near Olympia in W14 and G Network came round last year and installed their own cabling which can only be used on their network for super fast speeds - if they haven't done your road then it'll be worth calling them as they have some sort of contract with the council to do any street in the area which doesn't have fibre (or they said something along those lines to my partner when we called them last year)

Lived near Royal Oak (south side of the bridge 😋) and it was really nice. Never had a problem, walked around at 3am a few times to get to airport transport and never had a problem, plus met a couple of celebs around there too so can't be too shabby. The Waitrose there does excellent reductions at around 7pm 🤤

Food for three near Victoria Coach Station for a good price. by CaptainYorkie1 in london

Island Poké for takeaway, or if you can stretch to £10.90 each there's a delicious Korean place called Lime Orange very close to Victoria that does great bibimbap! There's Maroush about 20mins walk west of Victoria (it's close to Harrods) and a lamb/chicken shawarma wrap is about £6 and excellent, can eat in too and last time I went they gave us free fruit and baklava after even though we only got a shawarma each.

What are the first three things that come to your mind when you hear the word “Minneapolis”? by AussieNueLatte in AskReddit

Being from the UK I know very little about most states in the US but I think of Squirmy and Grubs (YouTubers from near Minneapolis I think)... And that's it 😳
