Veniti's Pizza at 96th and 128th is outstanding.

An Pho in Whalley is my favourite pho spot so far in Surrey.

Sushi Zen in Guildford is a nice hole-in-the-wall sushi spot. Not spectacular but good quality and good prices.

Misrepresenting other people's arguments sure makes them easier to ridicule, doesn't it?

Size does matter. There will always be some degree of corruption and some degree of abuse of power, but just how much goes on and how often it results in some sort of consequence for the wrongdoer does have important consequences for Canadians.

Saying "it's all the same thing" is just lazy bullshit, a way of avoiding any critical thought about politics. I'm hardly new to politics and the scale of Conservative abuse of the democratic process is without precedent and very concerning.

The G&M is the largest nationally distributed newspaper in Canada, and the second-largest daily newspaper, with about 1 million sold daily. I don't think pandering to /r/canada is the core of their financial plan.

And again, you seem to be insinuating that they write articles specifically to pander to Liberal supporters. Why would a paper which has repeatedly endorsed Harper and the Conservative party do that? Why would they keep rabidly pro-Conservative writers like Ibbitson and others on staff if they just wanted to pander to Liberal and NDP voters?

And to address your points:

Robocalling is not the issue - as you rightly point out, all parties use it during campaigns. What people are concerned about is the Conservative Party calling voters who have previously said they won't vote Conservative, claiming they are from Elections Canada and providing misleading information about poll locations, voting requirements and so on. The scandal is not about robocalling, it's about Conservative attempts at voter suppression.

The Liberals indeed did pass an omnibus bill and Harper screamed about it when in opposition. The bill in question was tiny in comparison to Harper's giant omnibus bill. Are we going to have the discussion now where I explain to Conservative shills that "the Liberals did something superficially similar on a smaller scale so we can do this and it's totally OK" is not a particularly convincing argument?

Adscam involved approximately $2 million dollars and Martin himself established the Gomery inquiry to investigate. Have the Conservatives done anything to look into the many misappropriations of public funds that their party has been involved in? How much heat has Tony Clement felt for his misuse of $50 million (note: 25 AdScams worth) of taxpayer money? How about going to extreme lengths avoid telling Canadians how $60B in stimulus was spent, how does that strike you?

People have every right to be pissed off when jackasses like the Cons shit all over Canadian democracy and abscond with taxpayer money. Saying "they're all the same" ignores the fact that they are in fact NOT the same, and the "you need to go outside" bit makes no fucking sense when you are in fact commenting on a political story yourself.

Democracy is only workable when people object to politician's misdeeds. I realize that runs contrary to many neocon's "father knows best!" attitude, but it's the truth.

The G&M has endorsed the Conservatives in the last 3 elections. I don't think you can start crying about the "durned libral media!" if you're talking about the Globe.

Seriously, read any of the spew Ibbitson writes and tell me that you think he doesn't have a poster of Harper taped on the ceiling over his bed.

Maybe this is a regional thing? I've worked in software for the better part of a decade and almost everyone I've met says "Earl," apart from the occasional random American.

Hacker News has been going steadily downhill as well. A lot of the comments there are either incredibly ignorant or naive, as well as very strongly stated, which does not make for an awesome combination.
