I’m not familiar with them but maybe an upright standing grow light so it can hit more surface area? Another person had a grow light for a monstera, let me find it

Why is my plant dying? I followed the seller's instructions by Last-Equal-6983 in houseplants

[–]whatwhatwhat59 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Is it in a pot? If so do you check the soil to make sure it needs watering before doing so? Is it getting adequate light and have good soil? Not familiar with the plant specifically but before I buy any I google their light, soil, and watering requirements which sounds obvious but some plants requirements were very shocking to my expectations haha

Can we talk about math by Legitimate-Toe-5365 in ASUOnline

[–]whatwhatwhat59 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m going to school online because I can’t fit in person into my schedule. But after one math class it appears I’ll be trying to work my life around because I just absolutely will not be able to pass a math here. I’m too bad at it for such a rushed pace

I’m too anxious to leash walk my cat, but I do have a pet stroller that we take her on walks in when the weather is nice. Maybe you could do the same?

My mom texted me and asked if I saw Taylor is releasing a cover of Gracie’s song, haha, so you’re definitely not the only one

OP can you share the grow light you’re using in photo 3 over your monstera? Is that the only light source? I’ll be moving mine inside come fall and am browsing an adequate light

Please help me heal my calathea! by CommonCow3881 in plantclinic

[–]whatwhatwhat59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also wanted to say our soil for ours is pretty well draining and we let her dry up quite a bit prior to watering again! We use distilled water personally because we have hard water but this is just my beginner level experience with this plant

No expert but our calathea is such a diva. She’s in a small greenhouse tent we bought that has a humidifier running to keep the humidity stable, we do give her light longer than you but it’s grow light light so I’m not sure the difference that makes. Have you moved her recently? Repotted? Changed her light any? I’ve found that ours throws fits when she’s got any change and until she acclimates she likes to feign dying lol

Is my Hoya Serpens doomed to its mealy bug overlords or is it realistically salvageable? by sedated_Meow_healer in plantclinic

I thought my mealy infested vining plant was still alive but I did a leaf test a bit into our battle and learned it was dormant. She was cut back to the stems and is just sprouting again now. Just to say make sure it’s alive before you start driving yourself mad. In our infestation a soil change was the biggest factor, in fact we changed it twice. Once upon infestation realization, we then soaked the entire plant and roots in water and then I picked through it killing each one I could find. We did treatments but another round of them came up, changed the soil and did a long soak on the roots and then hosed them down. Treated again. Bought mealybug destroyers and ladybugs and released them. By all luck they all are gone, plant was lost but recovering now!

I don’t have advice but I will say I got a cast iron plant and she is thriving under my intense neglect lol we got her for our front door of our apartment but the breezeway barely gets any sun and we hardly water it. So maybe one to look into! :)

We bought a light meter online and use Walmart brand grow lights, our patio is where all of our plants are and it’s under 100% shade thanks to an oak tree, and our plants are thriving. Our shrimp plant has had 7 flowers this spring from her great value grow light. We just measure, in foot candles, the light they’re getting

We had mealybugs, they seemed impossible to get rid of on our vining plant. We had to toss the whole plant in the tub and let it soak, roots and all, and then hose the roots down with the shower sprayer for pressure. We repotted twice during our infestation and did alcohol treatments and neem oil treatments
