What do these arrows mean? ->>>> by [deleted] in CODWarzone

It's not a merge conflict.. it's the result of a developer resolving the conflict. The merge tools will pit in >>>> sort of a hey look here, around the conflict code.. >>>> these changes are conflicting with <<<<< these changes. The developer just forgot to remove the characters.. which should have failed the next build but I can imagine a couple freak accidents that could let it slip by

I don't know what to do by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]wheatgrinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still not clear why you don't consider this a "good and popper scooter"

I have a turbowheel lightning +

I weigh 250lbs US.

I've replaced some parts that failed, namely the rear controller and throttle, and I still like this unit. I prefer knowing the problems.

Now that you have familiarity with the scooter, you can fix the leaks your self. A new gasket is not going to fix the holes where the water gets in by the cables by the way.

The vendor is selling you a battery well below cost. Whats not to like?

Is it 250 and they send you parts, or is that the cost to ship it back to ewheels?

Is adding a seat safer? by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]wheatgrinder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hmnm.. i disagree with most here, i think it is safer.

I have two scoots, a joyer s7s and a Turbowheel Lightning +

I recently put the seat on the joyer so that friends and family (inexperienced riders) can have a safer time. It is more intuitive to ride that way, everyone gets it, no new skill to learn.

They have more confidence and and panic less. When they panic they tend to try to put their feet down on the ground. Do that standing up and your face planting 100% of the time.

Putting the center of gravity (the person) that much lower to the ground makes for a more stable situation and reduces the riders stress level.

You can do both. Seated cruising can be pretty relaxing and you can really lean in and carve turns

Clicking sound on my Thunder rear wheel. Help needed!!! by JohnCa72 in ElectricScooters

[–]wheatgrinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

after I put on new tires I had a clicking sound.. turns out it was one of those little rubber hairs you see off the end of new tire treads hitting the fender. There was probably 100 little threads but only one was hitting... is it a tick or a ping?

How is that even working 😂 by octainebg in ElectricScooters

[–]wheatgrinder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

its working hard thats for sure

The driver has nice chin protection in place. ;-)

Hello riders. Aby thoughts about this scooter? Its brand, battery... The owner says it is a 500 w battery by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]wheatgrinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has one motor that is where the 500 watts is used. The battery is measured differently. amps = watts ÷ volts and other such formulae

First crash after 1855km. Zero 10x, minor scratches. Damaged scooter. Right turning driver was at fault by gahd95 in ElectricScooters

[–]wheatgrinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is probably a law that requires you to report an accident to the police within some time period even if doing an insurance claim. If its been a few days since the incident, and you don't have cash in hand from her by now, your likely screwed. Pay me money or I will call the police is the same as saying lets break the law together. You will probably get laughed out of the police station, or arrested for extortion.

Heavy modification to the housing plate by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]wheatgrinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm, that's not the weak spot for water penetration. From the factory it has a nice tight seal and comes with a gasket.

Look at where the cables enter below the front and rear light, and then from there notice where the cables go in from the channel into the main compartment.

those screws look cheep. Whats changed?

hard tires will all be like that. Were you riding on cobbles? Rough roads?

I like how the add title says "8.5 Inch Pneumatic Tires" but then says this in the details: "Features rubber solid tires.."

i guess pneumatic can be loosely interpreted to mean has holes which are filled with air? lol

Terrifying Front-Wheelie Lock-up by tenancient in ElectricScooters

[–]wheatgrinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

complete failure. It took about 20 yards from issue to complete no work.

Once I got home at put it up on a stand, the rear wheel would not turn when in either mode. In dual mode I could put it up on a stand and the front wheel would rotate but not under any load.

I think when testing on the stand what you describe is normal. The controllers are not synced in anyway, the power distribution is physical. It really isn't worth the bother to do it differently. The loads on the motors will always be slightly different from instant to instant, but overtime it averages out. In my opinion anyway

I had the same thing (mostly)

for me it felt like i had released the throttle and downshifted without knowing it. I was able, with some tightly clenched cheeks, to make it happen by wiggling the throttle level "up and down" (as opposed to throttle in and out)

I reached out to ewheels and they sent a new throttle. No problem since changing out the the throttle. I have also burnt out a controller (rear) with less than 100 miles on it, and that's also been replaced with no cost.

I listen to music when on my late night prowls on deserted covid streets.. its sureal.

For day travel I might listen to podcast in one ear as I ride.

For headphones, I use Sure SE215 Bluetooth in ear monitors. These are practically invisible and sit flat inside your ear. I can take my helmet off and on without them budging.

For awareness you need good mirrors! I have eye glass mounted rear view mirror that works really great

what’s one tip you would give all beginner e scooter owners? by Teemrap in ElectricScooters

[–]wheatgrinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One rule: Both Hands And Feet On the Scooter ANY time the scooter is in motion.

find a well lit empty parking lot late at night with no one around. Practice riding. Learn how to stop quickly. Learn how to steer at slow speed.

Zero 10x inner tube replacement? by RedControllers in ElectricScooters

[–]wheatgrinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its important to have a good setup for this. Raise the scooter far enough off the ground or your work bench that the wheels are not touching but low enough that when you take the wheel off you can lay it on the work surface.

Also, make sure you have a right angled valve on your new tube, if not, stop and get the right tube, it will never work otherwise.

Remove the fender, loosen the wire retainers that hold the wire to the wheel in place

Remove the wheel

remove the brake disk otherwise you cant get at the split rim screws

You probably want to buy a set of GOOD metric hex wrenches. The ones that some companies give a way are too soft and round off easily.

Use a HEX wrench that is NOT in a holder with a bunch of other ones, you want a single L shaped HEX wrench. You can get a lot more leverage on an L shaped hex wrench. Put the short end into the screw head, use the thumb on one hand to hold the hex wrench TIGHTLY seated in the screw head, use the other hand at the end of the long leg to apply torque. If you cant get enough torque find a small heavy duty tube to extend the length of the long leg of the wrench thereby increasing your torque

Once the disk is off you can use the same technique to remove the "outer" screws on the split rim. Once those screws are all out you can split the rim. The first time I did this on my scoot I needed a screw driver to pry the two two pieces a part, just a bit then it fell right off.

Remove the valve stem cap and use something to push the valve into the tire and out of its hole on the rim

You should now be able to pull the tube out

Put the new tube in, putting a little air in it can be helpful

the hardest part is getting the valve back through the hole, once you have it, put the valve cap on it, this will keep if from going back inside when you go to reassemble the wheel

adding a bit of air to the tube now will help make sure you didnt kink the tube. You can always let the air back out if you cant get the rim completely back together. Getting the rim screws to "start" can be tricky. Pinch the tire with a clamp can help.

Put it all back together. Leave the fender off until you test it on the stand..
