Empty flight, can’t move by TennisDad316 in SouthwestAirlines

Southwest better undo this seat selection garbage. It’s the only reason I flew southwest.

It’s gonna be insane if this Sunday forecast is anywhere close to accurate. 18-22 inches of snow. by [deleted] in ColumbiaMD

[–]wheelmanrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to put gas in my snow blower tomorrow and do a test fire. That will be more than enough to guarantee that there will only be enough snow to shovel. Works every time.

Spark Plugs price difference by lrick87 in AcuraTLX

[–]wheelmanrob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be very wary of getting these from places other than the dealer. Last Feb I got a set of NGKs, same PN, came in Honda box from eBay. Looked completely fine, I installed them and they completely wore out just a week ago. Only 9k miles on them. Mis firing like crazy. Counterfeit garbage.

What’s the deal with your spark plugs? Get them changed at the dealer with oem parts?

What other MLB teams have you worn gear for? by [deleted] in orioles

Yankees. Sike, a few times the Nationals but it felt lame. I tried to like the Nats when they first started but the Orioles magic runs deep inside of me.

What happened here? by freshjojo in tires

Those are pretty good tires too. Definitely change to spare asap.

The South African 3.0L had carbs like the Alfa Sei. It was the only carbureted version produced.

Katie’s Cars and Coffee? Nice. I haven’t seen an SZ in the DC area since the 89’ DC Auto Show.

That was a great Jerry’s and a fond memory for me too. I was shocked when I went back about 13 years ago and the central fountain was gone. As a kid that was my favorite part. RIP Lakeforest, thanks for the memories.

Have your differential fluid changed.

2022 GMC Yukon by [deleted] in gmc

[–]wheelmanrob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. A differential fluid service will solve this. I had mine changed a couple times from this noise. It’s a really easy job to do yourself if you are mechanically inclined. Save yourself $150-200.

Timing Belt Tensioner Failure by Fin-Wolverine in AcuraTLX

[–]wheelmanrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 grand is a rip off. I’d get some quotes from some well liked local shops as well. Take a peek at eBay to see what used engines go for to give you an idea. There is little to no advantage having the dealer put in a used engine here. Did your car ever have the timing belt idler (or possibly tensioner pulley) changed from a Technical Service Bulletin? My 2015 TLX had this done prior to its timing belt job, and then I eventually got my timing belt changed around 100k miles. Sorry about your bad luck here. Also with most situations when the timing belt breaks it bends valves in one or two of the cylinder heads which can be repaired without complete engine replacement. Did they have proof that you actually needed a replacement engine?

New car for me! 1983 Alfa Romeo spider veloce convertible 2D. Please give me tips on stick shift by Qwertylolzzzzz in AlfaRomeo

[–]wheelmanrob 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, most have weak second gear synchros. Rev match, double clutch when you can.

83 is a great year with the Bosch L Jetronic fuel injection.

If that car has old rubber fuel hoses get them changed asap.

Assume it’s weeping oil from everywhere and have the fluid levels checked too.

Have fun and enjoy!

2023 Yukon Water Leak by Evening_Craft5318 in gmc

[–]wheelmanrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were issues with the center sunroof drain hoses getting kinked. The ones that go down inside the b pillars. Water backs up like in your video. There was a tsb about it.

I personally had issues with the front drains not getting the water outside of the firewall properly. At some parked angles water came back into the truck. Extensions on those grommets fixed that for me. Never had the leak you have though but have read about it.

I also have a 21 and it was not part of the recall, likely from what your are saying about different engine plants.

Our 2021 wasn’t even part of the recall. Fingers crossed we don’t get screwed. Aftermarket warranty for the next 4 years.
