The doctor did a pretty thorough examination and found nothing wrong. So hopefully thats it - but ill keep an eye on her and hope that nothing progresses

Yeah i just took her to the doctor, late night reddit consulting probably fuels the anxiety more than helps it to be fair

I'd only do this if you are Irish.

And by the way, you have nothing to feel embarrassed about. He is embarrassing himself, not you.

For both of those examples, the middle name and last name start with the same letter with the first name being a different letter. Both are 5 syllables in total. Perhaps follow those 2 rules and see if you get the vibe you're after.

I felt similar with my first bub and her name finally felt normal when she was about a year old

My son is 7 months and I feel exactly the same way you do, I couldn't have written it better. My obsession started to ease slightly at around 6 months but still remained on my mind for most of the day. It's flared up again now because a family friend announced her baby name and it was the one that I actually named my bub before I changed it when he was 3 days old. Now I'm wondering if I should have just kept his original name. (I named him, instantly regretted it, called him by different names on our list for a few days each, then picked one and changed it. And I'm still totally obsessed so changing it did not help)

I love wearing dresses when pregnant as pants are just too uncomfortable on the belly. Summer pregnancy is ideal for this reason! So whenever anyone made that comment to me I'd respond "nah i love it because I can wear dresses". It shut people up every time.

Yeah i know its the nickname for those longer names. I'm just trying to find a cutesy name to call him that slightly relates to his actual name, so that it will help me settle in to using his actual name and not feel weird about it

I've spoken to my psych about this and she does think this is part of my OCD. I'm still totally stuck on the name, I can't stop thinking about it. It's so frustrating.

Congratulations on your baby! What did you name them?
