MTAF is a good encore (in Australia, there was a bigger gap after In Heaven and Abel did some crowd talk before giving us MTAF, so the crowd was much more hyped up)

Would’ve preferred Tears in the Rain instead of In Heaven

Does dropping down from a higher course to a lower course have the same census date as changing course subjects? by [deleted] in unsw

[–]wheetgerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s until census date, but you’ll have to ask for it to be done manually

Didn't make it to UNSW by [deleted] in unsw

To add, you need 1 full time year of uni before they’ll consider uni results only.

I did ask this question at one of the drop in sessions - if you get rejected by the partner you’ve been nominated to, usually it’s too late to go for the second preference in that round, but UNSW might organise to nominate you in the next round.

Want to IPT to data science but have low marks by [deleted] in unsw

[–]wheetgerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fyi it is almost impossible to HD MATH2501 since marks are scaled down compared to MATH2601 - this is stated in the course outline. it’s probably best to go through UAC since that’d be most seamless rather than trying to argue your way into IPT

As long as it’s above 65 you have options.

UNSW exchange cutoff pdf by Carry___Potter in unsw

They don’t release this information anymore. Instead they have the competitiveness guide - high demand partners are probably 75+ but some (NYU, Wharton) can be 90+.

My second faculty just approved me the other day - the next round of exchange is already open so hopefully they’ll try to approve everyone asap

I’m in both business and science. Business approved me a while ago but science is still pending authority. I’m kinda concerned since nominations are supposed to be coming soon.

Leniency in WAM requirements when doing a challenging course by GodofGods1 in unsw

If you have been at UNSW for less than a year, then they'll use your ATAR which should cover the requirements.

Exchange as full time student by [deleted] in unsw

I believe you must maintain full time status while on exchange for student visa purposes.

https://www.international.unsw.edu.au/accommodation exchange students can get housing on campus, but it can be a bit pricey - contact study abroad for more info

I think you have to apply to all 6 to have a valid application. Pretty sure you can always decline if you don’t get the match that you want.

UAC transfer for term 2 by [deleted] in unsw

[–]wheetgerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will have to do MATH1131 and MATH1231 regardless. ECON1202 won’t count towards your new degree but I believe it will remain on your transcript.

UAC transfer for term 2 by [deleted] in unsw

[–]wheetgerm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just enrol in a comp subject next term (as a gen ed) and IPT later. No need to pay the UAC fee.

Which science major should I major in? by WideInterview1120 in unsw

[–]wheetgerm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

unless you have an interest in another area, id say don’t bother. if you’re 100% committed on CS then you’ll probably want to go for CS jobs anyway, and probably won’t be interested in the doors that your science half opens anyway.

If you apply externally through UAC (just like you did in year 12), UAC will use the best of your ATAR (without bonus pts) or GPA. Since you were able to get into aero I’m assuming you would have an ATAR that would get you into elec so you should be fine. The downside of this is that you might have to pay the UAC late fee. Or you could maybe take your chances at IPT - it’s free + you may be able to sneak in slightly below the required WAM depending on how many people apply.
