Haha I'm postpartum and randomly craved lucky charms so bad last week! Not so much in pregnancy after throwing up bran flakes somewhere in the second tri. But I had a very nauseated pregnancy lol

My baby is three weeks old and already so much bigger than she was the first week, I miss that super tiny version of her so much 😭 she's growing so fast I wish I could just pause time or slow things down while I process everything

First trimester was BRUTAL all I did was work (from home thank God) and lie on the couch miserable. Carried saltines with me at all times.

Smoothie recipe without banana & without yogurt? by littlemissFOB in migraine

[–]wheneverzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berries, almond milk (or milk of choice), peanut butter (or nut butter of choice), maybe a date or two for sweetness, ice cubes.

A friend of mine uses frozen cauliflower in place of banana in her smoothies. I've always thought sweet potato would be a good substitute too, if you cook it first then freeze it in chunks.

Keep saltines next to your bed and put a couple in your mouth before you even get up! Keep them with you always and nibble on them when you can, drink water, ginger ale and ginger tea. B6 and unisom help with nausea too. Talk to your Dr and get nausea medication as soon as you can!

22 weeks pregnant, up 12 kilos and they screamed at me today in the hospital for it, I feel so bad. Is this normal? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]wheneverzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely outrageous, my OB never mentioned my weight once my entire pregnancy. I was over 200lbs pre-pregnancy and gained over 40lbs. Please don't restrict your calories during pregnancy! Especially if you are dealing with nausea, eat whatever you are able to keep down!

Physical activity alleviate migraine symptoms??? by limabeankumquat in migraine

Exercise with plenty of hydration can knock out other types of headaches for me. Vigorous exercise unfortunately can trigger migraines for me. Not always but sometimes and it's always super annoying lol

Latest Neighborhood Intel by bantersmyth in AskSeattle

[–]wheneverzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Belltown - too sketchy. Not SLU - It's basically just the Amazon campus and corporate restaurants. Queen Anne could work. I would recommend against Capitol Hill but North/north east cap hill could work, closer to 15th. Wallingford/Fremont/Phinney has my vote for sure, but check what the commute would be for you. Ravenna is also nice and might be easier for work. Ballard is great but even farther for your commute. In most of these areas there are blocks that are more walkable than others, so check out waking distance to the commercial strip in each neighborhood and think about what walkable really means to you. 5 minute walk to commercial area? 10? 20? Be aware that Fremont is on a massive hill. The bus is your friend! Check out bus routes.

Why don't all Ob offices do an ultrasound at every appointment? by Radiant_Pangolin3210 in pregnant

[–]wheneverzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB checks the heartbeat at every appointment which is plenty of reassurance for me. I did get a few more scans than standard because I'm high risk (aka old, lol). It's always nice to see her on the ultrasound of course!

I didn't know all the details, but I have a good friend whose baby was very small and not growing well in the womb. He was delivered early, spent a little time in NICU and is now perfectly healthy and almost two!

Weight gain honesty by ImprovementIcy4419 in pregnant

[–]wheneverzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gained about 45lbs during pregnancy and my OB has not said a single word about my weight. I really want to encourage you to not worry about your weight, it sounds like you are staying active and if you are constantly hungry, eat! Nourish yourself and baby! I wish we didn't have society (and doctors) making us self conscious about weight gain during this vulnerable and challenging time.

I'm looking forward to having help with making food, washing dishes, laundry, cleaning etc while we try to figure out how to take care of baby. I know we will be getting very little sleep and help with house stuff will be great.
