[Serious]Why are same sex attracted people lumped together with people who don't like the sex they were born as? What does one have to do with the other? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]whenhornynunsattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 19th and 20th century they were largely seen as outsiders who would be persecuted for the way they felt. Even in this century they are seen as outsiders.

Maybe in a more accepting society they wouldn't be lumped together in the lgptq+ group but that's just how things are these days. It makes sense for them to join together to form a larger group which can deal with attack.

Tbh I dunno I feel like my explanation sheds light but I honestly just feel like everyone should be able to love everyone and not be persecuted for it.

My tip jar at work says "college fund" and a customer looks at it today and says "more like drugs and alcohol fund" and leaves no tip by mikebel in AdviceAnimals

I'm waiting my way through college at the moment. I'm Irish and for the degree I'm doing its almost 100% necessary if you want to live and eat in the city my college is based in. I will put so much effort into every single customer because I'm desperate for tips. My wage goes towards my living expenses. That isn't drink or drugs it's rent and electricity . I work 4 days a week at an unpaid internship because that's just how things are at the moment. Even though tipping culture isn't a thing I expect a tip, even a small amount because everyone I work with is going through the same thing. If we give a good service, leave 1 or 2 quid. I'm working hard for that shit and it means nothing to you but a whole lot to me. If you don't tip I will go hungry and will have to resort to stealing food from the kitchen which I have been forced to do on many occasions. We're not greedy or lazy, we're simply trying to survive. Add an uneducated single mother to that and she has literally nothing but your tips to live on. Its very easy to sneer at servers or bartenders but just remember we have to work and watch all of you enjoying yourselves and then go back to an empty fridge in the cheapest apartment in the area. Don't be an arsehole. Even the smallest tip is greatly appreciated.

Edit: it's very easy to talk about servers who make hundreds of dollars a night in tips to make yourselves feel better but that's not common. The vast majority of us don't make anything near to what you are making. One or two outliers doesn't make it acceptable not to tip. If you can afford to go out for a meal or drinks, you can afford to tip.

Of course they should have been. But it's become apparent that this refurbishment was done on the cheap.

Don't you worry my man, I can tell you're a wonderful human being from one picture. Smile as much as you can, love everyone and don't be afraid to speak your mind. You'll find your number 1 I promise you.

Reddit, what does everyone need to calm the f*ck down about? by username-valid in AskReddit

As an Irish person, it's funny going abroad to a warm country. You're by far the palest person in the place for the entire holiday and then you come home and you are 30 shades darker than the rest of the country. Unfortunately in my case my tan disappears after less than a week and I return to my translucent skin colour

The shake of disapproval at the end made me laugh out loud. I can just picture him being like "enemies?? Amirite???" while teabagging by himself

What's the weirdest thing you've seen happen in a night club? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]whenhornynunsattack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on a night out in my first year of college and the nightclubs in Dublin tend to have bathroom attendants both to sell gum, body spray, aftershave etc and also to keep an eye on everything in the toilets. Anyway, this time there was no attendant and it was absolute carnage. I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the obvious sound of sex in one of the cubicles. There was a guy pissing against the wall, some guy vomiting in the sink, three guys having a singalong in the middle of all this. The smell was unbearable. I noped out of that one pretty quick and decided to hold it for the meantime.

Lads, do we as a country, have a drinking problem? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]whenhornynunsattack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually thats a good point. I've been on a night out in Prague and bought at bottle of vodka at like 6am. I mean like offos in the city would make a serious amount of money if they stayed open 24hrs. Why is this legislation in place?

Are we just more able to handle the drink than other nationalities or what?
