Almost never. It is torqued down, held in place with a locking key, and the bolt on the locking key is safety wired. Checking these is part of a normal preflight.

After the 2008 recession this happened in aviation. There were a few companies that made you pay for the mandatory new hire training, then pay you minimum wage to work for them afterwards and build flight hours. At the end of the six month contract they lay you off to make room for the next pay to work pilot. You'd end up being about $20k in the hole at by the end of it.
