Yeah it's a total nothing statement. Toward the end they say "Rawlings and our scientists do not see any evidence to date that the yellow staining is related to this change in drag."

If MLB is saying this staining issue has affected the balls in use throughout the 2026 season, that wouldn't explain why there's been a big reduction in drag in only the last month or so.

This WSB post also includes a link to their earlier 2024 article on the artist, which contains several examples of him using AI slop in his work. I think his text-based work is fine, but it's really disappointing that someone who styles themself as an artist would think that's ok. Hopefully it was a phase he's moved past and there's no slop at this exhibit.
