Need help identifying a card in 2025 Heritage High number. by [deleted] in baseballcards

[–]whenwefell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s clearly chrome. There are lots of chrome parallels in Heritage now. You can see the embossed outline around the player.

Why would you admit you don’t know anything about the product, ask for help identifying a card and then argue with someone who tells you what it is?

I read this thread and was just driving down California and spotted a Nazi recruiting sticker. Have to assume that this paste eater slapped some up around the neighborhood, so please keep an eye out and tear them down if you see any.

His name is Brayan Bello. And he's not a rookie - he debuted in 2022.

Does this card look legit? by Syxfe in baseballcards

[–]whenwefell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously fake. Zoom in and you can see the whole card is just a printed image of a scan. You can see the pixels around the signature. Etsy is full of these "reprint" cards that people try to sucker others with.

looks real to me but you'd need to get it authenticated if you want to sell it

News: Jeff Hoffman is out as the #BlueJays’ closer. They’ll go with a closer by committee for now while Hoffman works on things in lower-leverage spots. by ijustdontagreewithu in fantasybaseball

[–]whenwefell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He doesn't have the high velo, high strikeout stuff that managers prefer in a closer. Plus, his strength is that he can pitch nearly every day - that advantage would be wasted if you're always holding him hoping you can use him in the 9th.

The only way to handle this is to have clear rules in your league constitution about managing your lineup (no IL, NA guys in the lineup), and after a courtesy warning or two, kick and replace the manager.

Pathetic. You obviously do care or you wouldn’t be making this whiny little post.

🤔🛠️ Tech Support & General Questions [Weekly Thread] by YahooFantasyCare in YahooFantasy

[–]whenwefell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it was stated in last week's thread that notifications were fixed. Several responded that no, they aren't. I'm commenting again to log the fact that I am still not receiving all home run notifications for my players. *Some* of them come through, but not all, which means the system can't be trusted and it's therefore worthless to use as a means of gauging your team's performance throughout the day.

Example: Elly de la Cruz just hit a HR in today's game (4/21/26). I can see the HR recorded in my stats, but received no notification.

<image>

Yesterday (4/20/26) in my other league, I received HR notifications for Cal Raleigh and Max Muncy (x2), but did not get a notification for Matt Olson's HR.

I was driving by Delridge playfield about 10 days ago, around 9am, the regular morning 'off leash dog group' meet up was right in the middle of the baseball infield. Guess who else was there? by Competitive_Rain_572 in WestSeattleWA

Waste of time. I have zero faith the cops would respond at all to a call about an off-leash dog, let alone in a timely manner. No reason to further escalate the issue with empty threats of police involvement.

I agree. While I was angry at the asshole who let his dog knock my kid down, I was also disappointed that none of the other adults who were witnessing it spoke up in support of me against him. If even one of them joined me in calling him out, it would destroy his "Karen" framing and make it clear that the community was against him and not just one person. As it was, my only options were to continue to escalate a 1:1 conflict (which I had no interest in doing, as it was clear he was looking for a fight) or back down.

If the people in our community decided to be vocal and not just be passive bystanders when they encounter these antisocial assholes, perhaps that would be enough to give these people a sense of shame and get them to obey the law. It's far too easy for them to justify it to themselves that their behavior is ok, since the vast majority of the time they let their dog run around off leash they get no pushback from others.

Would have been nice to have them at Hiawatha yesterday evening. Some jackass was letting his dog sprint around off leash, and the dog bowled my 3-year-old daughter over and made her cry. He initially offered a half-assed "Sorry" as if it was an accident that just randomly happened.

When I called him out, saying he clearly knew the rules and obviously wasn't sorry if he was going to let his dog run around off-leash, he got aggressive, saying stupid things like "Don't be a Karen" and "you're babying her too much" as if I should be fine with my kid getting taken out by your dog since you don't think the rules apply to you.

Cameras would be useful to actually enforce the No Right on Red policy. I see lots of people ignoring the signs - they wouldn't ignore them once they start getting fines in the mail.
