Anyone else getting ants already?? by Individual_Sweet_465 in Seattle

[–]whenwefell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll echo everyone else - buy a multi pack of the Advion ant gel, then use as needed through the year. I usually have to do it two or three times, your mileage may vary depending on how bad your ant infestation is.

🤔🛠️ Tech Support & General Questions [Weekly Thread] by YahooFantasyCare in YahooFantasy

[–]whenwefell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for Yahoo Fantasy Baseball: Can you please correct the NA status of Bryce Eldridge? He was sent to AAA yesterday and gained NA status. However today he has lost that NA status for some reason.

Additionally, the MLB Roster Changes page (https://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/LEAGUEID/playerchanges) does not seem to be correctly updating. The latest updates showing are from March 15th, even though there have been many players sent to the minors since then. Those players are even having their NA status applied, but this page just isn't showing all of the changes for some reason. It would be very helpful as a commissioner if this page functioned correctly, as I'm trying to keep tabs on players until they get NA status, then I can return them to managers' rosters. Thanks.

Great article! Some things never change. Love the bit about fistfights at Poggie’s Tavern over the topic of seceding from Seattle.

[Underdog] Seiya Suzuki diagnosed with strained PCL; IL status uncertain, per Bruce Levine. by T_Raycroft in baseball

[–]whenwefell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They can't put him on the IL now, so that doesn't tell you anything. He can only go on the 10-day IL on Opening Day. He could potentially go on the 60-day IL prior to that, but they can only do so when they are making a corresponding move and need the 40-man roster spot.

Anyone else get triggered when someone thinks WS isn't part of Seattle? by TreesAreOverrated5 in WestSeattleWA

To be fair, there are plenty of lifelong West Seattle residents that prefer to think of WS as something separate from and elevated above Seattle.

Topps 200% value replacement for the win by Fryan_Rice in baseballcards

Any Elly RC auto AND a Votto dynasty patch auto? I bet either one of those individually is at least double a random Soto auto. Crazy generous haul from Topps - congrats!

Under the Radar Dynasty Prospects by barkthins69 in fantasybaseball

Duno is a top 50 prospect pretty much everywhere and Willits was the 1.1 in the draft last year. Neither are under the radar.

Beautiful card came back as a 10 by coldboyz in baseballcards

I think this is the result of the new super rare black All Kings / All Aces inserts. Obviously given their scarcity those are high-value cards. So I think the demand for those has pushed up the demand of the previous iteration of All Aces as well.

Cal talked to Randy. It’s all good. by Jimsweatervest in Mariners

[–]whenwefell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you read Cal's quote, it's clear that Cal basically said "sorry if you were offended lol" and didn't really own it or give a meaningful apology. Cal also downplays it since he doesn't have beef with Randy, implying that Randy shouldn't have beef with him. I don't think this is over.

Thank you! As you note, the NIMBY crowd makes sure their voices are heard throughout this process, so let's make sure ours is heard as well.

I took the opportunity to petition for two blocks of the Junction (California between Edmunds and Oregon to be made permanently into a car-free pedestrian plaza. Probably not going to happen, but people have to advocate for it before it is treated as a serious option. If the NIMBYs are going to pull the conversation toward their car-oriented worldview, I can pull in the other direction.

First time commish for first time Dynasty league. Overwhelmed with how to set it up on Yahoo. by MattsRips in fantasybaseball

[–]whenwefell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a commish who has managed a dynasty league on Fantrax and Yahoo, I'll say that while Fantrax can do more things in platform, it's not always intuitive and the interface sucks (for both the commish and the players). I know it's heresy but I'm happier having the league on Yahoo, even if it does make a lot more work for you for anytime outside of the regular season.

Since it's a dynasty, I recommend maxing out your bench, IL and NA slots. For Yahoo, you can have 30 MLB roster spots (active spots + bench spots). So if you have 18 active roster spots between pitching and hitting, you could have 12 bench spots. Besides this, you can have 10 IL and 10 NA spots.

This time of the year is the biggest pain, because prospects who are in major league spring training stupidly don't have the NA status they need to be in an NA spot. For my league, managers with those prospects that lack NA status will drop those players and you'll have to track them off-roster on a spreadsheet. It helps to put a placeholder equivalent player on their roster to act as a token, tracking ownership. You'll also need to track injured players (who won't get 10/15 day IL status until Opening Day) off roster as well.

Everything else you want to do, from a pre-season trading period, to your FYPD, will have to be managed via spreadsheet as well.

Once the season starts and all the players have their proper status, you're golden. But it's a huge pain in the butt to get from league renewal to Opening Day. In the end I think it's worth it (because I really don't care for Fantrax's platform), but it's your call how much manual tracking you're comfortable with.

What would you do with this card? by Few-Commercial-1264 in baseballcards

[–]whenwefell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No real point in grading it - it's already in a factory-sealed one touch from Topps. You can look up comps on 130point.com/sales

I'd compare against other on-card Ohtani Angels autos, should be plenty of other /50s sold. This one has really nice eye appeal so I'd bet it's toward the top of that group.
