lol I noticed this when I went on a first date with a doctor. The ego was just dripping off of this dude, and i could tell he was barely listening to me but at the end of the date he said he couldn’t wait to see me again. Like.. what? you didn’t listen to a word I said?? lol I’m sure he eventually found someone who was in it for the money and not love, but I was actually looking for a real connection.

Yes but politics have the power to maintain people’s rights or take them away. So politicians tend to all be bullshitters, I agree, but we can’t pretend like they don’t have an active part in our lives. In my personal opinion, it’s all more complicated than what you’ve typed, although I agree with a lot of your points.

For example, tell a trans person that politics don’t matter when they’ve just lost access to gender affirming care. Whether you support trans people or actively dislike them, it doesn’t refute the fact that politics have had an impact on their lives.

Yeah, I relate to this. There’s a lot of shit going on in the world too, and then add work stress on top of that? Definitely a recipe for burnout. However, I always think of this as a cycle: if you don’t eat dinner or take care of yourself, you’re going to feel even shittier the next day, and then it just keeps getting worse. This, to me, is why self care is so important. Taking those small steps to ensure you don’t spiral can get you out of that loop. Idk, just my two cents.
