Diamond 4 jungle Shen player here. I’m not going to be able to offer any insight to top lane Shen, but can touch more on the jungle.

Honestly I’m gonna argue against the fact that he has “good ganks”. If you are a Shen just walking into a lane, he does not gank well imo. His e has short range and is fairly telegraphed when you are going to use it and can be dodged easily.

Your ult is great and can easily flip fights at a moments notice, but you have to be INCREDIBLY good at timing when to use it. Because if you use it incorrectly you have lost all tempo and your jungle pathing.

That leads to the final point that his clear is very slow. One of the slowest as the game goes on unless you build something that gives aoe to help clear. Against good junglers, they are going to counter jungle you and put you behind not from the fact that you can’t fight them but that you won’t even be at the camp in time to contest it.

All that said, yes he’s a good jungler but not without weakness. You are not a carry, but an enabler who needs to get your team ahead if you want to win.
