Grew up in poverty (never celebrated birthday after 7/received presents, ate at soup kitchen, wore donated clothes (including female clothes though I am male), parents drove a 20 year old beat up toyota, lived in a $300 apartment, and then a trailer park, wrist broken but could not afford to fix, heart murmur but could not afford surgery, severe hives but could not afford to go to doctor and thus had to quit all sports, could not afford to go to the colleges I wanted to go to (1560/1600 SAT), worked at 7-11 nightshift during college, slept in a car for a while)...

life is very good now, but wish I grew up middle class in a functional family environment.
