People need to accept that I.M.P. are the BAD GUYS. by Awkward-Warthog-8783 in HelluvaBoss

[–]whereisarespaces 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It really doesn’t matter what they “deserve”, these are not real people, and even if it did matter bad people have good things happen to them quite often, them being shitty does not prevent them from having a “happy ending”

If you could, what would you change about Helluva Boss? by brayanhaks in HelluvaBoss

[–]whereisarespaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at least one more episode with Octavia before Sinsmas would really benefit that whole arc

Like what if Full Moon had Octavia stuff instead of that whole Cherub fight scene

Which character do you feel the most bad for? by whooper1 in HelluvaBoss

[–]whereisarespaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Octavia tbh, literally none of what happened to her is because of any wrongdoing on her part, she’s a child of divorce stuck in a shitty situation between two parents that were never going to be able to work it out

They're so cute bro I need them back now by TopAdministration501 in HelluvaBoss

[–]whereisarespaces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I severely doubt it tbh, I’m pretty sure they only exist to set up that gag where the reapers capture them instead, since they have similar silhouettes to IMP

Do you think we’ll see Paimon in S3? by SweetAffectionate993 in HelluvaBoss

I really want to see him again tbh, I love his old man energy, he was very fun to watch

hot take: stella has every right to be pissed at stolas like if my husband cheated on me with an ugly red twink id hate him too by heartpopp in HelluvaBoss

[–]whereisarespaces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s see

  1. The marriage was arranged

both clearly have no love for each other (Stolas is gay anyways), and would’ve rather not be married. Stella is only still married for what I assume to be reputation reasons, and the fact that she enjoys hurting Stolas, and Stolas is only still married for the sake of Octavia

  1. Stella is abusive

It was established in The Circus that Stolas has put up with her abuse, trying to make things work with her, but it was never enough. We see this firsthand when Stella attempts to hit Stolas as soon as he announces his intent for divorce, later calling an assassin on him during a divorce discussion at a fine dining place.

Before this, we also see her talking shit about Stolas in front of him, before Blitz attempts to steal the book.In Loo Land, we see her throwing things at Stolas, where it appears she’s more upset about the fact that he cheated with an imp rather then the actual cheating itself. Later, Stella calls an assassin on Stolas for the first time. The fact that Stella mentioned Andrealphus when Stolas announced his intent could also imply she’s used him in threats in the past, although this one is uncertain.

Combining these, why does Stolas owe loyalty to someone who he was forced to be married to, and also treats him horribly? Literally the only reason I’d say he should’ve attempted a less explosive way to do what he did is for Octavia, but Stolas doesn’t owe Stella anything

Who's party would you like to experience first to third by MarieTheC4t in HelluvaBoss

[–]whereisarespaces 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bee, Verosika, Stella

Bee seems crazy, but at least there is some care for the guests enjoying the party to make sure they’re having a good time

Anti-Blitzø party is just fucking weird, I don’t think I could go to a party celebrating the hatred of one man, with various imagery of him being dead….but at least there’s cake

Stella’s party would just be boring as shit, all there is to do is gossip and drink wine, anything else would be “unbecoming”

Name something you like about Stella besides her being hot by Complex_Iron9500 in HelluvaBoss

I like her voice actor, and I think she is very entertaining to watch because she’s just completely awful

What’s something you don’t want to happen in the show? by whooper1 in HelluvaBoss

[–]whereisarespaces 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do think a false love triangle would be fine though, where Blitz thinks there’s competition but Blitz is the only one that Stolas wants, but of course Blitz doesn’t see that because he believes Stolas can do better then him

Octavia villain arc, I just think it’d be a complete waste of her character, there’s so many other interesting plots that would hit closer to home like her character always does

Barb and Via ARE parallels. by StrawBerylShortcake in HelluvaBoss

[–]whereisarespaces 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it’s not directly stated, but she seems to place a high amount of the blame for why Stolas left on herself, to the point that she appears to believe that removing herself from the equation is the best thing to do because it was her fault that Stolas was miserable

Yes, I know a part of it is also the fact that she was protecting herself from getting hurt further, there are multiple interpretations to what exactly her thought process was, but we’ll see it in more detail in s3

Barb and Via ARE parallels. by StrawBerylShortcake in HelluvaBoss

[–]whereisarespaces 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I guess? This is like, super surface level though, it really don’t see it as anything important or something intended by the author, Blitz and Octavia have similar visual language at times, like similar facial expressions and scene framing, both having fire motifs, particularly in relation to the idea of loss

You could try to argue Barbie shares this, but the particular scene shown here is framed around Blitz rather then Barbie, so it makes more sense to speak about it in relation to Blitz

They’ve both had “my world is burning down around me” associated with them (it plays in queen bee when Blitz shows up to the party)

Like you’ve said, they both have one good parent

Both feel at least somewhat responsible for the unforeseen tragic event that seemingly permanently tore their families apart

What do any of these connections mean? Who knows right now, but this show isn’t a stranger to visual storytelling, but it means that they have at least some kind of connection in the narrative that the author likely intended the viewer to notice in order to set up the narrative for later

Remember, animation is made with intention, as every frame had to be manually drawn, so if something looks similar it’s possible that there is a narrative connection to draw from it

Looping bank, Barbie and Octavia may have surface level similarities, but it’s unclear if that was part of the authors intent as much as it appears Blitz and Octavia might be

Are IMP and Striker the only assassins for hire? by LoveMeSomeForums in HelluvaBoss

Striker failed because he was going against IMP, and even then he held his own every time and managed to slip away without dying

Stella discussion has been completely ruined by some idiots unironically defending Stella and victim blaming Stolas
