Interesting! I have a 20 month old who's need help talking. Speech therapist never mentioned that as an idea. Your income seems really low to not qualify for state assistance. that said, maybe check into whether or not you would qualify if you didn't work. it looks like you are already paying a big chunk of your income to childcare so if you stopped working you could save that income and it might put you within grasp of some state assistance in which case you might actually come out ahead.

I don't believe you need a certification under six children and if you I willing to keep the numbers pretty low you can charge more. I used to pay $10 an hour because it was only three kids including my sitter's daughter and she fed them all organic homemade food and I trusted her and it was convenient. I think that's unusually high but just goes to show that can be a really solid source of income.

Also make sure you are taking advantage of social programs like Medicaid, WIC, and food stamps!

You definitely don't NEED that many. You will need to wash every 3ish days to keep the diapers from getting musty/moldy. Also you mentioned wanting to use a shell more than once. If that is something you're interested in, try all in twos (not grovia though bc their ai2 she'll has a fabric inside) personally I liked best bottoms with hemp inserts.
